Question

Supplier - Adjust est Delivery date while still tracking OTD?

As we all know, supply chain issues are rampant.

My buyers enter an estimated delivery date when the PO is submitted. Many times, as they follow up with the supplier, the supplier states a “new” delivery date. To keep our business moving, the buyers change the estimated delivery to the new date. In general, we receive the items on this new date.

In my mind, this is NOT an on time delivery. Is there a way to track this?

Example:

Buyer orders 25 parts on June 1 and submits PO, supplier states delivery date of July 1.

On June 25, buyer follows up with supplier to confirm delivery date of July 1. Supplier states new delivery date is Aug 1. Buyer changes estimated delivery date to Aug 1 and we receive the parts on Aug 1.

This is not an on time delivery, as we expected the parts on July 1.

Thanks
