Vendor Spend BAQ Issue
Hello,I am very new to BAQ and SQL. I have not created this BAQ or report, but I have been tasked with fixing it.The problem: The current BAQ is not pulling the correct numbers. When we pull the data from the supplier tracker (links) it shows different summations; by a huge margin on both sides. Please see attached for the BAQ itself and the designer file.Thank you!select [Vendor].[VendorNum] as [Vendor_VendorNum], [Vendor].[VendorID] as [Vendor_VendorID], [Vendor].[Name] as [Vendor_Name], [Vendor].[Address1] as [Vendor_Address1], [Vendor].[Address2] as [Vendor_Address2], [Vendor].[Address3] as [Vendor_Address3], [Vendor].[City] as [Vendor_City], [Vendor].[State] as [Vendor_State], [Vendor].[ZIP] as [Vendor_ZIP], [Vendor].[PhoneNum] as [Vendor_PhoneNum], [Vendor].[TermsCode] as [Vendor_TermsCode], [POHeader].[OrderDate] as [POHeader_OrderDate], [POHeader].[TotalCharges] as [POHeader_TotalCharges], [POHeader].[TotalMiscCharges] as [POHeader_TotalMiscCharges], [POHeader].[TotalOrder] as
Method Tracker View Costs - Total vs. Unit vs. Part
Hello,I have been using Epicor 1 year. Our previous controller left 3 years ago, and apparently took most of our cost process knowledge with her. We only have material, at average cost, in our Epicor costs, so it would seem this is as simple as it could be. That said, we are confused. I am in Supply Chain and am being asked to explain BOM cost changes from 2 years ago to now.Part Advisor and Completed Jobs show a similar “high cost” over the past yearI have a BAQ with Issued Matieral, that gets within 5% of the Job Cost and Part Advisor.Method Tracker View Costs has three fields, which confuse me:Part Cost is a total only, and it matches the Job Cost and Part Advisor Total Cost has detail, but is low by 5% Unit cost has detail, but is low by 5% and matches TotalWhat is the difference between these three? If there as detail for Part, I could review component differences.I believe that whatever cost from two years ago that has been used as a reference, was not accurate. The costs we
Kinetic UI Layers removed from Menu
We have just been testing our Major Update process to move our test environment from 2021.X to 2022.2.X and have noticed that any UI layers that we have created have been removed from the Kinetic Customisation field in the Menu Maintenance screen and we are having to redeploy them. Has anyone else seen this or have we done something wrong?
Creating BAQ Report from BAQ
I have created a BAQ and trying to setup a report to show the same results as the BAQ so I can have it sent via e-mail. In BAQ Report Designer, I created the Report ID and associated the BAQ to it. However, when I run the test...it runs, but the data is blank. I’ve tried this on more than one BAQ that I have created, and can’t get the BAQ Report to show the results. I figure I’m probably missing something simple in either the Report Designer or the BAQ itself.
Add Table Field to RDD
I only need to add a field to an SSRS report once in a blue moon so it seems I am always relearning the needed steps. For the Material Transaction Detail report I need to add the EntryPerson. In the RDD maintenance it is an excluded field so I have cleared the check marks on a new definition and referenced this in the new report style. But in SSRS Report Builder I don’t see the new field. In RB under the DataSet Properties for PartTran I added EntryPerson. Now I can add that field OK but when I run the new report style it contains no data although a quick BAQ shows names for all the transactions.I feel that I am missing a step somewhere - possibly in a query but I can’t recall where to do this. I have a vague memory of a non-intuitive way to access the query code. Any hints? Thanks,Todd Caughey
Kinetic UX - Grid Summaries including dashboard
In the process of uplifting dashboard and discovered the new Kinetic UX has what I would consider a major defect. When you choose to “Show Summaries” you don’t have the option to choose what columns to summarize. Furthermore, it summarizes ALL fields it identifies as an integer or number like field. So fields like OrderNum, OrderLine, and OrderRelNum are showing summarized in Grids and Dashboard Grids. I reported this as an issue and the response I got was...”development doesn't consider this a bug but a feature that needs improvement in the design of the Kinetic/New UI form”.Please take time and open https://epicor-manufacturing.ideas.aha.io/ideas/KNTC-I-2656 and add your vote.We have decided to not uplift dashboards to the kinetic app. We are leaving them to open from Classic. The rub on this is then you cannot launch dashboards then using the web browser. And if anyone has found a workaround, please share.
What is the Shelf Life field on the Part record used for?
We are trying to find information on the Shelf Life field on the Part Record. This field is only 3-digits in length, so you are restricted to a maximum of 999 days. What is this information used for and where is it used?We have some metal parts that have a shelf life of 10-years, according to our supplier, but we are restricted to a maximum of 999 days within this field. If it is not used within Epicor, why is it on the Part record? If the item is Lot Tracked / Controlled, then having a Lot Expiry date on the Lot record, makes sense, and adds to the confusion of the Shelf Life field on the Part record.Any insight you might have would be appreciated. Thanks
Any reason to not use Constrained Materials at all?
Is there any good reason to not use constrained materials at all?We turned that on for purchased parts last August after not using it at all for over 3 years since Go Live. We did it in conjunction with starting to use Global Scheduling on a recurring scheduled process. (After several months of that, I was told to turn it off, my objections never being heard.)With the constrained materials turned on, now our unfirmed jobs created by MRP would get rescheduled out according to availability/lead time of purchased parts, which to me makes logical sense that you would want that to happen—especially since our Sales department puts basically every order arbitrarily inside of lead time. And when we were using Global Scheduling, this would happen with our firmed jobs; now we just have a ever-growing bunch of firmed jobs locked into past dates that we can't finish today due to material not being available. But now it's being suggested to me that maybe we need to also turn off Constrained Materia
Indirect Labor and Labor Expense Codes: Pulling Your Hair Out?
Kinetic 2022.1 re-implementation from Vantage 5.It is confusing but I figured it out.The Indirect table, maintained in Vantage by the Indirect Labor menu entry, still exists in the same table and in the same menu location in K22, but its name has been changed to Indirect Labor Code Maintenance, and in the menu it is simply called Indirect Labor. Each entry links to a Labor Expense code just as in the old system. DMT menu for loading is System. The LabExpCd table, maintained in Vantage by the Labor Expense menu entry, still exists in the same table and in the same menu location in K22, but its name has been changed to Indirect Labor Account Maintenance, and in the menu it is simply called Indirect Labor Account. It’s a confusing name because it is for both direct and indirect labor expense codes. In the context menu, it is still called Labor Expense Code. DMT menu for loading is Production.HTH,...Monty.
Planning Throughput Report?
For a given manufactured part is there a report that will calculate delivery date based on lead-times for build, test, pack, and purchased components ect? They basically are looking for a BOM/TimePhase/MulitLvL Pegging style report that given a Part and a Start Date it will drill down into all aspects of “creating” it up to and through shipping it out.
Custom Financial Report ?
Our fiscal year follows the calendar year which is fine. However, there are times when we need to run a report for a date range that may start in the previous year. Is there any way to do that in Epicor ? I don’t see any options for that in the standard financial reports. We are on version 220.127.116.11
ACH payments - NACHA file
I am 99% complete testing my ACH payment and I noticed my NACHA file only has payment 1 of 2 for each of the suppliers I paid 2 test invoices for. The Remittance Advice & Pos Pay shows two invoices/total for both, Supplier Tracker payment history shows the total. My NACHA file only lists the first invoice for each. Anyone run into this or have any idea if it’s a configuration issue? I think it might be my file. This is beyond frustrating - started this process 5 months ago.
DMT Job Assembly Update (Parent, Prior Peer, Next Peer, Child)
Migrating via re-implementation to K22.1 via DMT When we do the cut-over of the non-transactional Pilot to Live, then load the open jobs, I’m hitting a road block and can’t remember how to solve it. What I expect:Initially load JobAsmbl records with no parent, peer, or child fields included, and no Related Operation included. Then load the JobOper records. Then load-update JobAsmbl again, this time with only the required fields plus Parent, peers, Child, BOM sequence and level, and RelatedOperation. The assembly records would then have their proper structure in the loaded job. What’s actually happening: On the Update run, DMT seems to load the update JobAsmbl records normally, no errors. But the job assemblies are still flat in Job Tracker. In one job, assembly 5 should be a subassembly of assembly 2 but it is still shown under parent zero. What I’ve tried so far:Load without Bom level and sequence fields Load without RelatedOperation field Run conversion workbench pointer fixes b
Looking for new members for the Cloud Architecture Advisory Board
Epicor Product Management is looking for Kinetic SaaS customers to join our exclusive Cloud Architecture Advisory Board who are interested in collaborating to test and provide feedback on the new cloud experience and new features. Some of the benefits customers will see include:• Early access to new features• More flexibility and decreased downtime for major upgrades and minor updates• Custom URLs• Self-service cloud management features, such as copying databases from Production to Pilot• Collaboration with the Epicor Cloud team and other customers The Cloud Architecture Advisory Board will be active in 2023, during which members will be asked to:• Commit to periodic testing (estimate: an average of 1-2 hours per week, depending on your organization), with some additional coordinated testing with Epicor for advanced cloud management features• Attend monthly calls via Microsoft Teams to discuss testing progress, provide feedback, and learn about upcoming changes• Become a potential refe
Get current session variables in dashboard
For rather complex reasons, I want to get the current environment name in a customised dashboard. The closest I can find in Object Explorer is MainController.Session.AppServer, which I can extract the environment name from as it is part of the AppServer string, but this is not recognised when I run the code checker, and nor is any other member of MainController.Session. Can anyone point me in the right direction?ERP 10.2.700Kind regards,Peter
Lot number for Mfg Receipts - Custom
I am looking to see if it is possible, or if someone has already figured out a way, to customize the Lot number on the Job Receipts to Inventory, that defaults with the job number, with additional information. For example we want that job number but we also want the “REVB” added to the job number so we have job 12345REVB as the final lot number for the parts going into inventory.I feel a BPM is in my future but not quite sure where to start with this if it is even possible. Thanks for any direction or insights.Melissa H
Menu Maintenance - Kinetic App - Program ERP.UI.xxxEntry - Select customization - Set as Read Only
In Kinetic, the Entry Screens now have what’s called an Activity window. Essentially, Epicor built the Trackers inside of most Entry screens (YEAH!!). Therefore, you don’t have to open a new form to see the related transactions to the job, order, po, etc. Additionally, this allows me to create the entry form customization and not two customizations to the independent forms: entry + tracker. Create XXX Entry screen customization layer. To apply the Entry Customization Menu Item to the Tracker Menu Item...in Menu Maintenance, find the related tracker click on Actions > Copy Menu to current Company. Now you have a UD Menu Item for the new tracker instance. Change the Program Type to Kinetic App, Select or Enter the Program (ERP.UI.xxxEntry), Select the Customization and Check the Read Only checkbox. I ran into a few where after changing the tracker menu item to Read Only (pulling the entry UI and customization), logged out and back in, opened the tracker...my customization was t
