Auto Receive Intercompany Shipments

Does anyone have a BPM they use to automatically create receipts for intercompany shipments immediately after shipment that would be willing to share how they set it up? We worked with a consultant today because our finance department is dictating we can’t ship at the end of the month to our other entities because if the receival happens in the next month, the books don’t balance. That does not make very good business sense especially when transit time can be up to 5 days. The consultant told us one of the best practices she has seen was companies writing BPM’s that upon shipment, the intercompany receipt it immediately completed and received into a holding warehouse until the product gets to the location. I was hoping someone on here would be willing to share what they have done to get this to work. I am new to writing BPM’s and can’t wrap my head around how to get this written. I am assuming it would take some code that I do not know how to write. If its too big of an ask, we can alw

Has Epicor removed functionality in Kinetic version 2023.1.3?

We upgraded  our QA environment to Kinetic version 2023.1.3 last night and it appears that Epicor has removed some functionality. I can no longer sort or filter on anything in the New PO Suggestions search screen that has a column header of name (which is a lot)It looks as though the Paste Update functionality has also gone missing with this version. Does anyone know if Epicor has any hidden features that I may be missing? I am really hoping Epicor did not remove functionality without having some kind of replacement or enhancement elsewhere.

When Grids Turn Light Gray

Kinetic 22 and 10.2.700 with WinForms (classic) screens Has this happened to you?I’m clicking along in K22 or I’ve seen it happen on 10.2.700 as well, using my WinForms screens and getting things done.  I search for an order, customer, anything really, and pull in a search result, and most of the time it works normally but sometimes, maybe twice a day, all my Epicor screens turn a washed-out gray color, with the print only a slightly darker shade of gray than the background, causing everything to become hard to read.  I can close the screen, reopen it, to no avail.  Exiting the software and starting it again, brings me back to normal. When I’m in the broken, gray-on-gray state, if I select grid contents and Copy To Excel, even the resulting Excel sheet shows the light-gray print with a slightly lighter gray background.Have you seen this? Thanks,..Monty.

Sales Order etnry

Hi. I was told that Line 1 from an order could never be deleted. So if I have an order of 100 items, but need to remove line 1 from the order (because the customer decides they no longer want that product), the only way is to void that entire order and start over with a new order? Is this really true? If so, could someone provide documentation to back that up? Thank you. Rachel

Mail Maintenance Problem

Hi All,First post on the forum as a member of Epicor Users and new to Kinetic! :)We have recently begun our Epicor journey and have begun the Pre-implementation training supplied by Epicor directly to introduce Epicor Kinetic Saas to the business.I have had an open support call with Epicor now for over a week to try and resolve an issue with regards to E-mail setup which is currently preventing me from being able to add any new users to the system.We have Office 365 but Epicor have recommended us setting up mail settings using SendGrid (as this is how most clients setup) and i have followed their advice to do this. However, I have not been able to resolve the issue and i get an error message when trying to send a test email.Has anyone implementing Saas had a similar issue? I have it setup as below as per advised by Epicor directly.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Luke (Sherwood Stainless & Aluminium Ltd)

DMT-Load Quick Search or Named Search?

K22.1.10 Can Quick Search records and Named Searches be DMT-loaded?  We’d like to develop in “Live” (eval) and migrate them to Pilot.Using Field Help, we can see that Quick Searches are stored in the QuickSearch table, but nowhere in the classic DMT menus do we see Quick Search as a table that can be loaded. Thanks,..Monty.

We have a unique (at least I think it is) customer requirement. We need to put the material lot number used on the job on the customer packing slip.Anyone have any idea how we can accomplish this?

Kinetic 2022.2.11 - Miscellaneous Charge Logic Error(?)

Epicor Kinetic 2022.2.11 - It has been found when a Miscellaneous Charge for Sales Orders is set to a Frequency of Every the amount to be charged is translated to a negative of the positive integer entered. The only variable found is the when Every is selected, not First or Last.  This cannot be functioning as designed (?) as this behavior has not been prevalent in the past.

Unique values from multiple results

Hello, This might be a simple question (I hope so anyway). I am trying to pull a ‘Items sold in the past ## days’. So I have the order header, order detail and part tables linked. I filter the header ‘orderdate >= 01/01/2023’I am getting the desired results, however I am getting multiple items (as expected since we sell parts all day long every day).How would I get the unique values only reported? Thanks!Arno

National Accounts - How to implement...or should I not...

I have a customer that has bought multiple others, so there are about 12 operating companies under one umbrellas with many customers each. We don’t use National Accounts because within some customer umbrellas we may have different discounts, terms,  etc. However, for this particular umbrella company we do have the same discounts, terms, etc. Anyone familiar with National Accounts recently that can help me.If I create a National Account can it apply to JUST this one umbrella company? I am trying to figure out the best way to issue quarterly rebates (done as a credit) and apply against all the 12 different companies (which equates to 269 (and growing) distinct customer masters).Hoping someone has some insight for me on this.

Material Burden Percentage

We are a distributor so purchase all of our product. We use a material burden percentage by part to cover import and freight costs. We recently changed from Standard costing to average costing and believed that using the material burden percentage on the part would handle this for us ok. If the PO is $1 and the burden is 10% then the average cost material is $1 and the material burden cost is $0.10 (a simplification). We’re finding that the burden percentage calculations are coming out wrong and are nothing like this (although sometimes they are ok) Does anyone know what the actual calculation being done is? Anyone have any idea why this isn't working especially on established product

Credit Card Processing Fee?

Has anyone set up a credit card processing fee in Epicor? We are looking to add a 3.5% credit card processing fee to every sales order using credit card terms, and are hoping that there is some sort of process already built in the system to handle this sort of thing.

How can you change a scrap qty if the labor record in time and expense is no longer reacallable?

Finance runs Capture COS/WIP every week. This results in situations where the labor record in Time & Expense cannot be recalled to adjust the scrap qty when errors have been made.  This is for scrap not NCR/DMR. A few things we have tried:Not allowed to enter a negative scrap qty from MESNot allowed to enter a negative scrap qty from a new Time & Expense detail record.Cannot adjust scrap qty from Job Adjust.Does anyone know a way to adjust the scrap qty in an operation if labor has already been pulled? We are a foundry so we experience a fair amount of scrap. Would LOVE to find a way to adjust scrap qtys.Thank you for your help.

Change Log - UserID Field Rules

I need to get the UserID for JobMtl change log records so I can see who added materials.  UserID would allow linking to UserFile to get the list of security groups so I can filter out for just people in the Engineering group. But in the change log records many of the results have no UserID - it is blank.  What are the internal rules for determining when Epicor populates the UserID,  or not?Thanks,-Todd C.

BOM Listing

Currently we are running Kinetic 2022.2.14 and we have noticed that when we run the Standard - SSRS style of the BOM Listing Report (running as indented BOM) it shows un-approved revisions on the component parts. When talking to Epicor Support about this we were told:“By design, when creating the Manufacturing Method, the last created and approved Revision is the one that will be chosen. In case you have created both revisions on the same date, then we will take the first one listed in alphanumeric order. The parent will keep the information from when it was created and won’t update even if the user creates new Revisions for Materials or Subassemblies. This is a design limitation. An alternate way to update the parent BOM to the current child Revisions is to remove the Material and re-add it. This will update the Revision to the latest approved Revision you have available for that material.”We asked them if they were going to improve this functionality they said:“There has not been any

Row has been modified by another user and couldn't be updated.

Generally in the Sales order entry screen, some users will review the business logic error after making a change to a release for example when going back to the line or header, and some will not. Is there a setting or a behavior that can help with this?Another example, after entering the order, then using the order wizard to create the make to order jobs, then going back to the header screen, the message appears.

Add gross weight to materials on Job Traveler

I am looking to add the weight to the materials on the Job Traveler.   I am trying to create a relationship from the Part Material List to the Part Master table and use the gross weight.   How ever since the material is a sub report on the Job Traveler report I am not getting the correct relationships to show up.   Has anyone added the weights on the materials sub report?  Can anyone assist with getting that relationship setup? Thanks for your thoughts!

We heard you… we are changing the voting structure very soon (within the next few weeks or sooner). Once complete, the new voting structure on Epicor Ideas will be:You may vote for an Unlimited number of ideas (the 50 vote limit will be eliminated). Each user will have a limit of one vote per idea. (this used to be one to three… now only one vote).Historical ideas (those before this change takes happens) will retain their current votes, even if more than one vote. No need to remove your historical votes

Job Entry - Get Details - Appending Materials

When using Job Entry - Get Details and appending Materials, the sequencing in which the subassemblies are appended onto the job is different to the sequencing in the Method master.The job that we are appending to only has 3 operations, no material.When we use the Get details function to get details from Method master, and we Append both Operations and Materials - the operations append ok, but the materials, which in this case are subassemblies, get appended in a strange order.On the left below is the order in the Job, on the right it shows the order from the Parts / Method master.Do you know what could be causing this?Assembling sequencing is quote important for production, is there any way to force it to be appended in the same order as the master?Thanks!
