We were upgraded today to the latest kinetic 2021.1.9. We discovered an issue with licensing in that our MES we have been using which has an app=mes on the URL is taking full licenses. We were told we needed to use mode=mes. This is a totally different application! Has anyone had any experience with this mes version?
We were still using the Classic /MES, but testing kinetic applications/processes. We wanted to switch MES to Kinetic and support advised us to change the path to app=MES. We were concerned because it is significantly different and was missing functionality. The most recent response we received is “the Kinetic default MES launch type would not be changing from /MES to /app=MES anytime soon” and that we should use mode=MES.
We’re working on converting everything to kinetic now, but it seems many people at Epicor, especially Support, don’t seem to know much about it, so it’s hard to get help when we have questions or issues.
We are cloud so we’re also on 2021.1.9 and went live in December with a hybrid classic/kinetic environment. Would be glad to connect and share info/support. Are you transitioning to kinetic now?
We are an on-prem site and have just installed Kinetics 2021.1.9 to begin testing. We will be using a hybrid model also, as we have a completely customized application within our current E10.2.400 environment that we are not sure is worth migrating to Kinetics or fully rewriting for Kinetics. Would like to connect with both of you to hear what you have found to work well in Kinetics and not so well, along with any trip-ups you have had with the new version Kinetics 2021.1.9.
