Creating a BAQ Report
I am trying to find out what a BAQ Report is for sure and if I am heading in the right direction for what I need. I have created many BAQs over and the years and then added them to a Dashboard. However, now would like to be able to schedule to have the data from the dashboard pulled on the first day of every month. I had heard of a BAQ Report, and was thinking that maybe I needed to create a BAQ Report that uses the BAQ I have created, and then be able to schedule that. Not finding any information on how to do it. I gave it a try and it seems to have created something, was trying to find how to run the BAQ Report I just created, only seeing BAQ Designer. So don’t know how to run it. I looked in actions and there was a TEST Form option I ran that but get error about too large or too small for an int32. I ran it again and get Report Style not found.Any directions or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
E10: BAQ to Retrieve Last Sales Order for Each Customer?
I need to create a BAQ that will return only the last (most recent) sales order for each customer and create a formula field that tells me how many days ago that was.In E9 there was the first/last criteria. I’ve been trying to play around with subqueries w/o much success.Anyone know how to do this in E10?
Epicor 2021.1 Client Installation Issue and Win10
We have 12 computers on our network that are currently running Epicor 10.2.400.9, and the new Kinetic client (2021.1.9). However, we have 1 computer that does not seem to connect to the new Kinetic environment properly. When the user runs the Kinetic client, a window pops up, stating the user is trying to connect to the server, and does not display the Kinetic menu screen. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the Kinetic client several times, but it does not seem to want to work on this 1 PC.Has anyone encountered the same issue and if so, can you provide us with some options to look at in an attempt to get this to work? I have asked out internal Help Desk, if this individual is running any unique software application that could be the issue, and they have stated no. The client is basically the same between E10 and E11(Kinetic), so we are at a loss as to how to diagnose this issue. My IT guy is telling me it is very difficult to deploy single sign-on with Azure Active Directory.I understand that it must be all users or separate appservers for non-single log-ins. But it looks to me as if it is some settings for the user and some settings on the server. He says, “SSO in Epicor with AD is a project, (and a ) complex integration. It is not a trivial task.”
BOM Cost Dashboard
I am struggling with how Epicor is calculating costs. It appears that the costs in part tracker are incorrect because we have issues on job reporting accuracy. We want to be able to pull a list of manufactured parts with the rolled up BOM Cost but I can’t find a table or field that would provide me with this information. I know I can pull the BOM cost report, but I would like a BAQ where I could pull all my manufactured parts at once and just get the final total. The BOM Cost report isn’t in the best workable format.
Time Phase Feature
If you enter a part number and get to the time phase it tells if there is an open po for it or if it is on a sales order. I would like to see if its possible to add a job to this feature in ERP 10. Currently, for example, Part L1049, or 40# liner shows how many po’s and msi are due in, but it does not show all the msi currently allocated for jobs that need coated. Adding this would make forecasting purchases much easier. Please let me know if this can be done. Thank you.
We are working on implementing the RMA process in Epicor 10, but during my initial trial of the application I have found an unusual issue. Every thing goes smoothly until I go to input the Receipt in the Receipts Tab in Return Material Authorization. When I add the receipt it requires a Warehouse and Bin, but the warehouse drop down is greyed out. It won’t let me get pass this since the warehouse and bin are both required fields. To make matters more confusing, it is not greyed out for every customer or even every sales order shipment type. See examples: Customer A:Stock shipped parts- Able to enter warehouseJob shipped - Able to enter warehouse Customer B:Job Shipped - Unable to enter warehouse Customer C:Stock shipped - Able to enter warehouseJob Shipped - Unable to enter warehouse Customer D:Job Shipped - Able to enter warehouse I am not sure what I am missing. I have tried several customers and several orders and I get the same result. Some work as expected and some don’t
BAQ Calculated Field - Current Time
10.2.500I’m finding old 8.03 conversations but nothing recent like E10, to display the current date and time, or just the current time, in a calculated field of a BAQ. There are conversion operators that appear to have this function, but for the life of me I’m not finding a way to display the hours, minutes, and seconds of the current time. It doesn’t help that there is not a calculated field format that just says “time.” The only thing I can get to display is a number like 40372. Thanks much!
Active home screen question
Hello, I currently have (hopefully) a simple question. I would like to have my Epicor open with the Active Homepage (we will be upgrading to Kenetic soon) but the only options I have is the default layouts. I am trying to get the program buttons to display instead. I cannot for the life of me find where to do this. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,Arno
Material Request Queue
We are cleaning up some unclosed Sales Orders from several years ago but when trying to close the orders get the message about their being referenced by at least one material queue. I have looked all over for the dashboard for the Material Request Queue but can’t find a menu item for Advanced Materials Management (licensed) except under Data Collection and that one has no General Operations sub-menu.This is for Kinetic 2021.2.9 - Any idea where I can delete items from the queue?Thanks,-Todd C.
REST Error when trying to Connect
We are working on making some customized executive reports. Mostly Finance/Sales right now. We have the BAQs written and they show what we want but the Executives arent super fond of the EDD Graphs and want to use either PowerBi or Excel. I read that you can connect your BAQs to Excel/PowerBi through REST but when i try to get to web address I enter my credentials and get this error. This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have a costing question, as I am not totally understanding how Epicor does the costing in/with transactions.I have a part that on one date/transaction, it shows a STK-CUS transaction with typical unit costs. The next transactions performed are ones moving parts to Inspection, and then through DMR as we scrapped some parts of the job. The ASM-INS transactions are recording at no cost, but then the DMR transactions moving them to scrap all of a sudden has our labor and burden unit costs shooting up. This is a part that typically does not have high costs since it’s a smaller part.I’m trying to find and/or understand how the DMR process is recording these transactions at a much higher cost. Is it related to the resource/operation that these parts were scrapped off of?Attached is a snapshot of these transactions. Filtering information for a dashboard
I’m working on a complex dashboard where I have several If-Then scenarios coming from demand consumption. The dashboard is pulling information from Job Demand and Issued figures, On-Hand demand, and Open PO Lines. In a case where the demand is satisfied in the job, I don’t want it to show the On-Hand, nor PO information. If it’s still an open line item and is Satisfied by On-Hand Material then I don’t want it to show the Open POs for that part. I also need to tackle the issue that if there is more than one On-Hand location and/or multiple POs that it not duplicate the demand figures in each line. Is there a way to either tackle this kind of logic in the BAQ output or the Dashboard information? I would prefer to show a single line for the demand and and supply portions (skipping what is not needed) and be able to drill down into the detail as needed.
Epicor REST API (Version 2)
We are on Epicor v10.2.600.x and trying to utilize the RestFul services to push in Sales Orders and Jobs. The Sales Order API seems to be working as expected so far but we are struggling with the Job Creation API. We can successfully push in portions of the Job but not all of it and the portions that are created doesn’t go in as expected. Is there anybody that has been using the Restful APIs that would be willing to Share any knowledge on how they work?
Need solution for Avalara AvaTax TLS 1.2 requirement for Tax Connect in E9 and Vantage
Avalara Inc. intends to deprecate TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 in December of 2022, which will break the connection to Avalara's AvaTax service for ERP 10.0.X.X through ERP 10.2.300.X customers and for those who use the older offerings of ERP 9 and Vantage / Vista 8. ( Reference article https://help.avalara.com/Frequently_Asked_Questions/Avalara_-_Knowledge_Base/ACTION_NEEDED%3A_Update_Transport_Layer_Security_to_TLS_1.2?origin=deflection ) The article mentions 1/15/2022 but, according to Epicor Support, Avalara have decided to delay End of Life for TLS 1.0 and for TLS 1.1 until December 2022.Epicor policy-wise, Epicor ERP 9 and Vantage have been in sustaining support (as opposed to active support) for many years and therefore are not eligible for any type of development work or creation of an Epicor ERP patch to resolve the issue.Can anyone think of a work around solution for implementing TLS 1.2 for E9? Perhaps using a proxy service or some intermediary measure?
Updatable Dashboard - How can I update 2 fields in related tables in one Dashboard?
Hi All;I want the updatable dashboard to allow the update to the OrderRel.ReqDate + ProjPhase.DueDate.One notable...our company config is set to allow phase assignment at Release Level.I created an updatable BAQ where I can update the OrderRel.ReqDate. The ProjPhase.DueDate is a field I can set to update as it’s joined in the BAQ but it doesn’t actually update the value in the database.This is because it only allows one Business Object to be selected.I have seen a couple posts in the past with this but I am not fully following the steps.Has anyone been successful in updating 2 fields from related tables?Thanks in advance for your responses.Patty Buechler
As a result of a change in the organisation I have a director who is now the senior approver, and cannot approve POs sent through to him. The buyer who raised the PO has this person listed as an authorised user but when the approver attempts to click the approver checkbox he gets a message saying he has exceeded his limit and it should be approved by - and his own name.Can someone help because I’m tearing my hair out with this.
Looking for some guidance on releasing of jobs in Epicor
Historically we have been releasing all jobs to Epicor as soon as they have finished engineering them. We mark Engineered and released at the same time and try to let the scheduler distinguish priorities from there. The input we received from Epicor was that we have too many jobs concurrently release/in work in the system and that we should be controlling the flow by releasing when the job is due to start running. Just curious how others are doing this and if they are not releasing right away, how they handle purchasing getting suggestions or non mfg operations such as programming getting claimed back to the jobs. Also, how do you determine the future load on the shop prior to releasing the jobs? Thanks, Jarred
Fixing Part Average Cost
I may be crazy but I am trying to remember if there is a conversion or fix routine to recalculate the average cost for parts. Many parts have zero average cost due to not being received to stock but rather direct to the job. Now everything is being received to stock and the costs are messed up. Is there a way to have the system roll through past receipts and automatically recalculate the average cost? This is for Kinetic 2021.2.3 in the Cloud so I am thinking if there really is a way it would require Cloud Support. The incorrect (or missing) average costs are affecting WIP valuation and revenue recognition. Thanks,-Todd C.
Capture cos\wip activity out of balance
We are trying to do month end and when running the Capture process it errors out. We reviewed the Review Journal and it shows the transaction being out of balance. We found the PO that is the issue and throwing the balance off by 88.10. The PO release did not show or have the default GL account listed. I re-open the PO and releases and did the Get Default button as one of the Epicor knowledge articles suggested. Worked great.Ran capture again but still errored. I wanted to delete the receipt and redo (to have it pull correct info for the transaction)it but we already invoice and posted for this po receipt and it won't allow me to delete and redo.What are our option here so that we can get the capture in balance and finish our month end process?Thank youMelissa H
Invoiced not Received Report/Tracker
I have had a request from our new Head of Finance asking if there is an invoiced not received report/tracker? This is what she has asked - “Each month we run the report in Epicor ‘Received not invoiced’ which shows items where we have GRN’d a PO, but the invoice has not yet been received.Is there a corresponding report showing ‘goods invoiced not received’? When I look at the GL transactions I can see invoices being booked to the GRNI code, so without the corresponding GRN it stays as a balance on the GL account. However as its not on the first report we effectively write these items off each month rather than check if they are correct or not. Can we reconcile?” I am not aware of a report, can anyone advise? MES on the Web URL app=mes OR mode=mes
We were upgraded today to the latest kinetic 2021.1.9. We discovered an issue with licensing in that our MES we have been using which has an app=mes on the URL is taking full licenses. We were told we needed to use mode=mes. This is a totally different application! Has anyone had any experience with this mes version?
