Combined Western/Eastern PA group meeting Fall 2023

Combined Western/Eastern PA group meeting Fall 2023

Save the Date and Call for PresentersHi everyone, the combined Western and Eastern PA User Group meeting is scheduled for September 14 in Carlisle, PA. Right now, we are in the process of confirming the agenda and I need two things:Mark your calendars and watch for registration information coming soon I need at least one more user presentation from the Western PA area. I will be doing one presentation, and we should have at least one more from another user. Several ideas from the last meeting we had were: When to use table criteria in BAQs Implementation success stories, what went right or what works well Good practices, tips and tricks for things like backflushing, PCID, or other features How to handle taxes in AP Can I get a volunteer to talk about one of those (or any other topic you find interesting)? This is a group primarily by and for users, and we need some more user participation if we want to keep it going.

Hi Heide, Great, glad to have you here. I would also recommend that you join the Eastern PA group. They have a meeting coming up in July, and we’re planning a combined Western and Eastern PA meeting in September, so I would definitely recommend attending both of those if you can.  Aerotech uses finite scheduling pretty heavily, so we would be happy to give you an overview of what we do and compare notes on what you’re doing.

Western PA / Eastern OH Meeting Q1 2023

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting yesterday, and a big thank you to those who traveled and/or presented. The more participation and involvement we have in this, the more valuable it becomes for everyone. I will be sharing presentations and content shortly with those who attended. I hope to see many people at Insights in May, and we will plan on having a regional meeting after that to share information and takeaways from the conference. In that meeting, tentatively June or July, I will be sending out a call for presenters and a host. While Aerotech is generally happy to host, I would really like to see some other facilities and learn more about what other companies do. These are some of the topics that we talked about yesterday that people would like to learn more about. If you know something about one of these, please consider making a presentation and teaching the rest of us. If you don’t know something about it but would like to, consider going to Insights, learning some

Planning Throughput Report?

We have also done this with Actions> Capable to Promise in Sales Order Entry. That requires adding the part on a Sales Order Line, so it is more overhead than using Available to Promise, but it does generally what you describe. It also takes into account current capacity and resource availability if you do finite scheduling.

WPA Group Meeting October

Hi all,  So far, I have two presentations for this meeting on the 20th from Kiski Precision and Aerotech, and I would like to get at least two more from other group members. Can I get a couple of volunteers for one of the following topics:A "where I work" talk describing who your company is, what you do, how you leverage ERP, and how you are trying to adapt to a post-pandemic world. This is pretty open-ended and can be whatever you feel like sharing about your business A problem you solved recently in ERP. This can be anything- a new module you purchased, an upgrade experience, how you leveraged some feature you didn’t before, an updateable BAQ that you wrote to solve a specific problem, anything generally technical.Feel free to email me directly at bfruit@aerotech.com  if you have questions or ideas.

End User Training

For us, there were three key things that I think made a big difference:Management support and direction. Someone at the C level telling all users that the transition is important and must happen is a big key Training and support from subject matter experts. We had representatives from each department on a core team that learned as much of their area of ERP as possible which put them in a position to answer questions and provide direction to users in their departments Clear, written, step by step procedures for people to follow. We made a few videos that people really seemed to like, but those were just more time-consuming so we didn’t do a lot of them, but if we were doing it again, I would try to do more of those

Calling all Users! Users Needed!

Hi Doug, @jcraft​ and I were discussing the Sales Order entry process in the WPA group. When Aerotech transitioned to Epicor we revamped our Order entry process at the same time to make it paperless, among other changes. If that is of interest to others, I could talk about that. Hi Jon, we did something very similar when we went live with E10. Previously, we used paper folders that got passed around the building and lots of manual reentry of data. The order entry process is completely paperless now, but relies heavily on Quote Entry. Almost everything we do is Quoted and the order entry process revolves around converting quotes to orders.
