Kinetic UI Layers removed from Menu

We have just been testing our Major Update process to move our test environment from 2021.X to 2022.2.X and have noticed that any UI layers that we have created have been removed from the Kinetic Customisation field in the Menu Maintenance screen and we are having to redeploy them. Has anyone else seen this or have we done something wrong?

Project Specific Inventory

We have a potential customer that wants to know about how we can ringfence the material we buy for them so that it is only used for their project.It is so long since i looked at Purchasing and POs but if we add the Project and Phase to a PO release, does that ringfence that material to be used on that project only? We have the Project Module.

Job Part Table

Can i directly update the Job Part Table via DMT? Every time i run the Job Part Template it says “You are not licensed to maintain this table”, If that is the case and i cannot maintain, how does the information in that table get updated? For example, Qty Completed.

Loading Jobs via DMT (Old system to new system)

Can someone explain the process to migrate Jobs from your old system to your new system using the DMT? We have queries for Job Head - Part - Prod - Assmbl - Oper - Mtl which i have extracted from E9 and i am loading them into Kinetic but i feel i am missing something. What should you ensure about the jobs in the old system before transferring. Its been many years since i have done this and i am sure i am missing something. I guess i am after a Best Practice method of some sorts. Thanks.

Heads UP! 2022.1.8 and a recurring MRP Issue

It seems that 2022.1.8 has (re)introduced an issue with MRP running and saying that the App server does not match in Kinetic and what is on the Server. AR Open Invoice Load error

I am doing a test cutover in Kinetic and i am getting the following errors when loading the above via DMT and the Kinetic App - ‘Invalid Fiscal Year has been entered’‘Invalid Fiscal Period has been entered’ Now both are setup so i am at a loss as to why this is happening. Anyone got any ideas?

Customisation in Kinetic Apps

When making Screen Customisations in Kinetic (2022.1.5), is there a way to apply the customisation to the Kinetic App across all instances of the App e.g Part Entry or do you have to apply it one by one in Menu Maintenance?

Regen Data Model

Quick question as i am trying to eliminate some issues in Kinetic. When should you run the Regen Data Model? I have been running it when adding UD Fields etc BUT should it be run after other Customisations? Cheers.

CustNum

We are moving from E9 to Kinetic and loading Data via DMT. One thing that has been brought up is can we use the CustNum in E9 in Kinetic as it seems that when loading via DMT it is generating a new CustNum? Maybe i am doing something wrong.

Issue with MRP Job Suggestions in Kinetic

We are doing our Final Pilot before going live and we have encountered an issue with MRP Job Suggestions which we have not seen before.The MRP has run and has created Unfirm Job Suggestions which can be seen in the below screenshot - However when we click on the Job to Open in Job Entry we get the following - We have tried this on a new part and a part that we have used in previous Pilot's without issue. We have also run the MRP a few times now with the same issue. When we try and make changes in Job Status Maintenance we get the following error - I have raised a Case with support but was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this?

Conversion Workbench Errors

OK, i did a customisations using a Foreign Key View which pulled the MFG Part Number and Name from the PO into the Receipt Entry Screen in the Classic view of Kinetic. This worked well. I have then tried to use the Conversion Workbench to convert it to the Kinetic UX but have a few warnings. Is anyone able to advise what i need to do to get the customisation working?Many thanks. Adding Custom fields in Kinetic UX

Hi there, is there anything to help with adding custom fields in Kinetic? I have added the columns via UD Column Maintenance and can see how to add them to ‘list’ views by selecting them in personalise columns however I cannot see anything on how to add them to a page? Any help or direction would be appreciated.

E9 to Kinetic

In E9 we have a lot of Views and Stored Procedures to hive off specific information which is used in external sources. I was wondering if anyone has done similar in the past and what they did with these when moving to kinetic? A conversation was had between our Infrastructure lead and an EPICOR guy and it has been suggested that we should use BAQs instead of these views etc…Anybody else heard this?

Global Lot Sequence

I am trying to find out how the Global Lot Sequence process works. We have a sequence setup that started in 2014 with a lot prefix of A and then a sequential number. I can see on the Lot Generate tab on the Part that parts have differing Prefixes A to I which initially i thought was based on when the part was setup, but that is wrong. Can anyone advise how this works as speaking with people internally, no one knows who does what when it comes to adding sequences and how parts get assigned sequences?

Screen Customisations in Kinetic

We have had a screen customisation done with a BPM behind it on ‘Part’ for instance and rather than adding the customisation through the menu option like we have done before in E9 we had had to have new menu options created? I would like to understand why this has to happen this way as potentially if you are having to create new menu options to replace existing ones, it could be a lot of extra maintenance when you further customise the screens whereas in E9 you just update the existing customisation.

Previous Due Date PO Release

Does anyone know how the Previous Due Date field in the PO Rel table works? Would like to use the field to record the original Due Date of the PO if any changes are made to the Due Date.

DMT Permission Issues

Our E9 DMT is not giving users access permissions to the same modules as in E9 itself. Any ideas? If i have disabled a menu option (Order Entry) as we use a customised version of it, would this be the reason?

Upgrade Queries

Has anyone created a batch of BAQs that they have used to extract the data from one version of EPICOR to cleanse and load via DMT to another version that would be happy in sharing? We are doing e9 to Kinetic and because of the state of a lot of our data in E9 we are not using the Cirus upgrade portal as we need to cleanse and remove a lot of bad data. I have made a start but just thought i would ask on here if anyone already had a set they would be happy to share? Thanks.

Periodic Posting Process PUR-UKN E9

After successfully sorting out the Periodic Process Issue for our Kinetic Test DB our finance Team has asked if i can resolve for our E9 production Environment so they can get as immediate benefit rather than waiting until we go live with Kinetic.I notice in E9 there is no Customisation Tab in the Posting Rules and no matter what i have tried to replicate the Kinetic solution, i cannot get E9 to work.Any help would be appreciated. Tried the above using a function and all that produced was /LN and the Line number.

Periodic Posting Process PUR-UKN

Does anyone have any screenshots available of their posting rules where they have added more description details for the PUR-UKN transactions on the Inv/WIP Reconciliation Report that they would care to share? I have looked at some of the documents that have been uploaded and cant seem to get my head around them and not having customised Posting Rules before i would like to see what needs to be done. Service type SO and Jobs

We dont have the Field Service or Maintenance module but i was just wondering how people deal with the providing of a ‘Service’ in a manufacturing environment? Sometimes we just get Customers who send us things for Testing or Storage or maybe for us to Train our Customers how to use something, how do people handle this? I was thinking maybe using Project Management but i am open to suggestions

Issuing reeled components to a job

We are trying to come up with a best practice process with regards to issuing reeled components to a job. If we have a requirement for a reeled component on a job currently will will issue the whole reel quantity to a job, not the required quantity (We currently buy to Job). No we do this so the reel cannot inadvertently get issued to another Job however this also causes us issues if we need to process a material milestone against the WIP quantity. What i need to know is if there are any other users out there that issue reeled components to Jobs and how they do it as i am sure the way it is currently done in STI is not best practice and actually causes us more problems than it solves? Thanks.
