In Kinetic, the Entry Screens now have what’s called an Activity window. Essentially, Epicor built the Trackers inside of most Entry screens (YEAH!!). Therefore, you don’t have to open a new form to see the related transactions to the job, order, po, etc. Additionally, this allows me to create the entry form customization and not two customizations to the independent forms: entry + tracker. Create XXX Entry screen customization layer. To apply the Entry Customization Menu Item to the Tracker Menu Item...in Menu Maintenance, find the related tracker click on Actions > Copy Menu to current Company. Now you have a UD Menu Item for the new tracker instance. Change the Program Type to Kinetic App, Select or Enter the Program (ERP.UI.xxxEntry), Select the Customization and Check the Read Only checkbox. In the process of uplifting dashboard and discovered the new Kinetic UX has what I would consider a major defect. When you choose to “Show Summaries” you don’t have the option to choose what columns to summarize. Furthermore, it summarizes ALL fields it identifies as an integer or number like field. So fields like OrderNum, OrderLine, and OrderRelNum are showing summarized in Grids and Dashboard Grids. I reported this as an issue and the response I got was...”development doesn't consider this a bug but a feature that needs improvement in the design of the Kinetic/New UI form”.Please take time and open https://epicor-manufacturing.ideas.aha.io/ideas/KNTC-I-2656 and add your vote.We have decided to not uplift dashboards to the kinetic app. We are leaving them to open from Classic. The rub on this is then you cannot launch dashboards then using the web browser. And if anyone has found a workaround, please share.
Business Scenario: Revision 001 is being upreved/replaced by 002 I create the new Revision in Part Maintenance (002) and check out both revision 001 and the new revision 002.I go to Revision 002 and Get Details from Revision 001. I make the applicable changes to Revision 002.I am now ready to check in both revisions. When I do so, I want to check in Revision 001 but as UNAPPROVED and Revision 002 APPROVED; thus Revision 002 is now the only approved revision.When I do this, both Revisions are checked in & both revisions come back as APPROVED.How do I bring Revision 001 back in but as UNAPPROVED and Revision 002 as APPROVED? Hi All;I want the updatable dashboard to allow the update to the OrderRel.ReqDate + ProjPhase.DueDate.One notable...our company config is set to allow phase assignment at Release Level.I created an updatable BAQ where I can update the OrderRel.ReqDate. The ProjPhase.DueDate is a field I can set to update as it’s joined in the BAQ but it doesn’t actually update the value in the database.This is because it only allows one Business Object to be selected.I have seen a couple posts in the past with this but I am not fully following the steps.Has anyone been successful in updating 2 fields from related tables?Thanks in advance for your responses.Patty Buechler

Hello EUG!I am wondering if anyone out there displays the scheduling boards (Gantt Chart or List View) on TVs on the shop floor? We do not have the AHP Token Authentication turned on so the Kinetic view (web based) is currently not an option. We also do not have the Advanced MES (Mattec).I would like to display the MRSB Gantt Chart pulling a certain selection of Resources based on the location. IE: Select all the Presses to display in the Press Shop Area. Select all Quality Equipment to display in the Quality Lab. etcI am looking for technical suggestions on how to display specific MRSB for the area in the shop. Different Thin Clients with a projection to a particular TV Monitor on the network? Thanks in advance for suggestions.Patty Buechler
Hi EUG;We have a new company/warehouse and want to start from scratch in creating the Part Master. We do not own the license for DMT but got creative in created an Updatable Dashboard for the key fields in the Part Master using the excel import function. I tested it in a pilot environment, and it seamed to work. It created a handful of parts which also auto created the PartPlant and the PartWhse. I think we are either going to do Qty Adjust or Cycle Count to establish On Hand Balances in the respective Bins. Any suggestions or things to look for? What have other companies used (not using the DMT) to create Part Master records?Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice.Patty Buechler
