Inspection Plan Format in 2023.1 Data Collection

We are in the process of testing 2023.1 with plans to upgrade our production environment in February. Today we tested inspection plans and found a problem with the way the Enter Results screen is formatting in Data Collection.Here is what the inspection plan Enter Results looks like for Final Inspection in Pilot 2023.1 Data Collection – a horizontal row (a very long row) image817×181 6.78 KB Here is an example what the inspection plan looks like in 2023.1 Inspection Plan Configurator Test Inputs. This is also what it looks like in Production 2021.2.5 Data Collection. This is happening to all inpsection plans ans is not acceptable since the inspection text is missing. Does anyone know how we can get it to look like this in 2023.1 Data Collection? I do not seem to be able to locate whatever setting is controlling this. image817×750 52.2 KB

MN based Epicor (Kinetic) consultant

Hello,Do you know of any good resources for Epicor consulting?  We are looking to hire a consultant to help us utilize Epicor to the fullest.  We have a small team of super users, but no super trainers.   We also are needing to update and would like a independent consultant to see if any of our setups or processes could be improved.    Looking for an hourly consultant for assistance over the next 3-12 months.

Edit Suspended Records

Does anyone know how to assign Edit Suspended Records to a user? It is showing enabled under maintenance but the user does not have access to it even though it shows she is enabled.

Self assessment taxes

HelloFor our Toulouse division I am trying to configure a Self assessment taxes type tax for purchases made within the European Union. When I record an invoice, I want to generate a debit and credit entry for the 20% tax. On net, the tax receivable is $0, but I need to see the recordingwe are in 10.2.700.6Here’s what I did and it didn’t work :Tax liability configuration :

BAQ-Recursive BAQ for a Costed BOM report

Wondering if anyone has created a BAQ report or Dashboard that is utilizing a recursive BAQ to create COSTED indented BOM report.     If so, would you be willing to share that BAQ with all of us?   I have been told that using a CTE query that a recursive BAQ could create a better Costed BOM report that is exportable to Excel than what Epicor has provided for the last 12 plus years.   Looking to see if anyone has already created something like this and if they would shared that.    I have put in a request or Epicor IDEA for a better Costed BOM report / Dashboard that is exportable to Excel, where it would be useable in Excel, unlike the report that is available now.   Need to get Votes put in for this, so that it becomes part of the newer releases at a minimum.    In the mean time, I thought I would see if someone has already created the wheel and was willing to share that with the group, as I see this as something everyone would benefit from. If you have something your willing to share

Inspection Plan Attributes order in Enter Results

Since Kinetic 2023.1/2023.2  only luanches the inspection plan specification and no longer luanches the inspection plan configurator in Results Entry in Data Collection We are trying to use the specification plan entry that is there. Here is what it currently looks like.Does anyone know how I can change the order of the Attributes in the row? It is displaying them in alphabetical order of the AttributeID. Changing the tab stop number in the conficurator or in the specification has no affect. Is there anything other than recreating the AttributeIDs in the inspection plan that can be done to change the order.? Cannot just edit the Attribute ID.

Sales and Use Tax

Hello,we are a mid sized manufacturing company located in Michigan and I am wondering how you handle sales and use tax on purchases that are taxable? I know there is a check box when creating a PO to mark it taxable but that doesn’t really seem to cause anything to happen in the system. Just wondering if there is a way in Epicor to have the system either calculate or truly notify if a purchase needs to be considered taxable. Thank you!

Tranfer Orders Shipped but Inventory not accounted for

This is a duplicate from a topic I mistakingly published in a regional group. In our canadian company we have 3 sites.On Fev 06, 2024, We shipped a Transfer Order for a  Part Qty 18 from WHS 1010-PCK, bin DEFAULT.The TO is shipped. The transaction shows in Part history tracker, but in part tracker or Part on hand status, the bin Default containing the 18 parts is still at 18. Inventory has not been withdrawn.We have another case that came up today that we suspect could be the same.Does anyone has faced this before ? We are on Kinetic 2022.1.33 since Jan 1st, 2024.Thank you !

Add a Column to the Where Used action.

Has anyone added a column to the “Where Used” action from Part Maintenance.  I am looking at adding if the part in the list is active to the result set.   Curious if anyone has done that and if so where do we update the “Where Used” data grid or dataview to include an additional column.  Thanks for your thoughts!

Bank Statement Processing - Ending Balance off from Bank Statement Upload

My variance in the header of Bank Statement Processing is off by the total debit amount (recognizing it as a credit) which is causing an incorrect Ending Balance by the variance amount.When I look at the Statement Workbook, everything is matched, the sum of variances rows is zero, the sum of unallocated rows is zero, but the Variance Total at the top to the right of Running Total is the total of the credits plus the total of the debits if they were negative. This is the first time uploading the csv bank statement, so I feel like it is either something to do with the upload or something to do with a flag in the background related to the uploaded statement. When I create lines for statements instead of uploading the statement, everything works correctly. I also compared the statements lines in the Statement Workbook from the uploaded statement to the statement lines from created lines in a prior month and they look the same. When I match to the uploaded statement lines, I get no variance

We have an assembly that has been returned via RMA which we disposed to a Job with one operation and one material (the assembly part number).  What is the proper way to explode the assembly an put the individual materials back into inventory?

Need Database links for Job Resource ID when using Capabilities

We are using Capabilities and I need to PRINT on the JOB Traveler the ResourceID in the Scheduled Resource section.  The Field Help says that info is in the EpBinding Field as JobResource.ResourceID - However in the Field Help - There is NOT a DB Field - We are New to Kinetic and writing our first reports.  How can I get to this information to print it.

Seeking Physical Inventory Kinetic Wisdom

At the end of March we are doing our first Physical Inventory as a Kinetic user. We came from 6.1 and only used it to make qty adjustments. We exported QOH for parts into Excel for count sheets.I can’t seem to find good Help in Kinetic for the process of counting what is in Warehouses. Also, a big issue for us is trying to take the WIP which is at actual cost (variances and all) and force in back down to standard cost.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Non-conformance against a subcontract operation cost determination

I need to create a non-conformance against an outside operation subcontract (OV) and want the DMR cost to be the PO price, not the cost of the part as of that operation. Can I force the “cost” dollars of a NCR/DMR? We do not want to create the NCR from the PO through Inspection Processing; we want to pass the inspection processing to the job and create the NCR from the OV Operation, but with the PO costs.

Epicor to SolidWorks Middleware

My company automates manufacturing. We use both fabricated and off the shelf parts. Our assemblies are large and are made up about 1000 individual part numbers, not including subassemblies.We currently have CADLink as our SolidWorks PDM to Epicor middleware using the QBuild suite. The QBuild suite has some good programs that we can use, like MBom. But, there is still quite a bit of manual work that has to be worked inside the program. We are open to possibly changing the middleware. What do you use? Why do you like it? Is there a different software you would have used?

Costing in DMR

We have a job that we just scrapped parts from, and the burden unit cost jumped from $111 up to $1194.  The transactions are shown below: We have the Move Costs to DMR enabled in Company Configuration.  I’m having a difficult task to determine where that big jump in burden cost came from.   If anyone can guide me where to look that would be helpful.We are using Epicor 10.2.500.

Stop RFQ to PO from updating Job Material cost

We are using the Kinetic standard RFQ process, even though it is and old program, it is working well for our needs. The one problem we have is with Purchased direct items, when we create the PO from the RFQ it is updating the material unit cost. We would prefer this did not happen as we want to leave our original cost estimate in there. Any suggestions? Thank you

MES - Request Form to Purchase Consumables

I once saw a customer’s MES screen that had a form where users on the shopfloor could fill it out and it emailed purchasing department a request to buy consumables.  I’m pretty certain that was a customization. I realize there are global alerts and other options to email, but I want to also be able to use it for inner office requests.   I’m curious if anyone created something like this.Thanks for your thoughts.

Production Activity Tracker \ Setup

Hi.  Is anybody using the Production Activity Tracker to monitor production against Resource Groups?  It looks like it should do everything we want but we are struggling to get it to work.  We have found KnowledgeBase KB0038506 but it isn’t very easy to follow and doesn’t even advise the correct order for the setup screens.We have raised this with our consultant who agreed with the above and has requested more information but it is has been a few weeks and so far and we would really like to see if it will do everything we believe it will!  Thanks.
