We have had an accounting manager leave our company and since then we are not seeing in our Chart tracker, the daily IJ posting entries from Receipt entry that puts the receipts into our Accrued AP account. No one seems to think that there was a process he was running but when we run that Chart tracker for that account, we see daily postings that coincide with the receipts. We are now trying to figure out basics on how these postings occur.

Any back to basics info would be appreciated.

Hi

Most of the inventory transaction do not get posted directly into GL and get collected in the COS/WIP. To post them into GL, you have to run Capture COS/WIP Activity process (located in Account Receivables). You have to run it periodically or schedule to run automatically at least few times a week. To see if you have anything not posted in COS/WIP use the Inventory/WIP Reconciliation report. Just make sure you’ve selected G/L Posting Details: Only Unposted to the G/L. If this report is not empty, you need to capture transactions so they will be posted in GL.

vshevchenko is correct. IJ’s  are a “periodic posting process”, and the Capture COS/WIP Activity process needs to be run in order to get this data.

Some organizations only run this at month end, and others more frequently. Our organization runs this several times a month, including a final time at month end, in order to decrease the amount of time spent on the process at month end.

Epicor has a full list of Month End Close items to be completed on in EpiCare, if that helps.
