We are about to implement cycle counting and I would like to set the schedule for the year. However, our fiscal year starts 10-1 and Epicor’s cycle counts are fiscal years.
What would be the best procedure to split the inventory count between calendar years?

When we setup Cycle counting I create a count schedule for each fiscal quarter. The advantage of this was that we run a parts inventory so parts could be removed and new ones added every quarter. If you set the schedule annually then these part changes are not accounted for until the new year.
To answer your question, our first quarter happens in one calendar year and the remaining in the next year. This allows us to code the Cycle Schedule records to the two different years.
In thinking about this, I should make a suggestion to use the fiscal calendar for the count schedule rather than the regular calendar.
