Payroll Type excluded from 401k deduction

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how to exclude a particular payroll type from the 401k deduction? Here is exactly what my CFO asked:

Pay types used on the last pay of the year to tax certain employees for Group Term Life Insurance over $ 50K paid by the company and company

vehicle usage. I need to find a way to exclude these from the 401K application/deductions for contributions and company match.  Want to take two of my pay types and have them

excluded from 401K wages.  Grp Term Life Insurance and Co. VehUsage.

Is there a way to do this without code? If it has to be code, what approach would be taken. Examples would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Kurt

We use Epicor Payroll.

For each employee’s 401k deduction and matching deduction we have period 5 unchecked (meaning that the deductions will not be processed during a period 5 payroll run).

If we are running a special paycheck that should not have 401k processed we then set deduction period to 5 in Paycheck Entry.
