Report to capture price increases/decreases for purchased (average cost) parts.

I’ve been asked to identify purchased parts increases/decreases that occurred for current year or previous years.  I think there may be several ways to accomplish this but would appreciate feedback from anyone that has already tackled a similar request.

I have reviewed the Supplier Price History report, but I think, unfortunately our purchasing dept has been deleting past pricing instead of Expiring past pricing.

I’ve listed some ideas below, but hoping someone has more insight to share:

Pull from PartTran table: (but this would not capture any PO’s not received?

Look for PartTran.TranType=ADJ-CST, but because we are average cost this would just show                difference between PO Receipt price vs the Avg cost at the time of receipt.

Or look for PartTran.TranType=PUR-STK, PUR-INS, PUR-MTL, PUR-SUB, PUR-UKN transactions             and compare the prices?

Pull from POHeader and PODetail tables to compare historic PO pricing.

Thank you,
