Due date vs promise date

We are having some confusion regarding the PO due date vs the promise date.

Is the due date the date we expect the parts on the dock and the promise date when the parts are acknowledged by the supplier? Or vice versa?

For reports in Epicor, which is used to calculate on time, late, or early deliveries?

Due date is what epicor uses to calculate on time. That is also the date you will see in Time phase as the parts will be available.

Thank you, that is what I thought!

I have a couple of KB articles that may also help.

From Epicor, “If no promise date exists for the PO Release line, Epicor will use the assigned Due Date for comparison.”

KB0066300 - Daily Buyer Workbench Processing (only available with a Supplier Relationship Mgmt. license)

This article indicates the Buyer Workbench uses the Promise Date to determine if the PO Line is Late.

KB0113261 - Supplier Due Date Horizon

This article indicates the Promise Date from the PO Release is used, along with the Due Date Horizon on the Part record.
