We are new to E10 and SSRS.  We've taken a level 1 SSRS report writing class and are looking for the intermediate class from a source in the Minnepolis area.  How have you E9 customers got training on SSRS and where did you find training?

What is Level 1? Where did you take this?

And if it is appropriate, I would be willing to share the cost of this with you to participate with this...

We took the class online from Center for Professional Development in Eden
Prairie, formerly Benchmark Learning. They put together their own
coursework. It included:

> SSRS fundamentals.
> Creating reports with Visual Studio.
> Creating reports with Report Builder 3.0
> Basics of datasets, tables, grouping.

It did not get into subreports, which most standard E10 reports have. So
that is the key element we are interested in, along with other intermediate
level topics. Does that help?

When I was on the customer side I always found it helpful to take Report writing classes directly from Epicor or a Partner. It’s a cleaner path because you get a full understanding of not only the functionality of the tool, but how it interacts with Epicor and the database. I would say, for SSRS/E10 specifically you would be better served getting this type of training because the ties between Epicor and SSRS are not something any standard education course will teach you. Epicor has its own way of passing the data so anything you learn regarding XML data won’t be applicable.

Just my 2 cents.

Yep. And probably what I need first, too...

So at this point, I’m not a good partner

Be sure to checkout the upcoming EUG meeting in Plymouth, MN

It will have SSRS on the agenda.

Yeah!!

Just a note, Dave Olender is working out great. He is far enough down the
road with SSRS that we have had great success in our first few reports.
Thanks for directing him our way.
