We created reason codes years ago, some for product lines we no longer build.   Looking to inactivate or delete these old Reason Codes, so no one can chose them.   Not seeing any way to do that.     If you have a way to do that or how you deal with something like this, Please share.

Hi Jack,

There really isn’t a way to mark them inactive per say, however if you deselect all of the transaction types that the code can be used for it will no longer show up as an option for users to select.

Good idea Jessica!

In those transactions that don’t have checkboxes in the above, you can change the description to start with “z Do Not Use” and I think that pushes down to the bottom of drop-down lists.  If you still have people using the “do not use” codes, you can review periodically and do a gentle reminder, or you could put in a BPM for mission-critical cases that will error out if an “obsolete” code is attempted.  Rather than use the old “z means obsolete” standard, you could add a UD field to implement your own custom “Inactive” feature with a BPM.

Thanks @MontyWilson .

We have been looking for a way to “Inactivate” Reason Codes for a while.  I had not thought to change the description to z Something to send those items to the bottom of the selection list.
