Barcoding and Devices

Question,

We are looking at implementing Barcoding on the Job Routers etc.   I am looking for some suggestions and experiences with what model and type of equipment you are using.  For example we are looking at putting some stationary readers at work cells for scanning in job / assembly / op;  The device needs to be able to set the min code length to 1 so we can scan a “0” or “1” for example for corresponding assembly.  I would welcome any thoughts or ideas.

We just use a simple wedge scanner (wired) but these new wireless ones look cool:

Just enter “Wedge Scanner” in Amazon

Avoid Wasp Scanners

Hi

Most of our customers use Honeywell or Zebra scanners/printers and some tethered scanners or tablets, it really depends on what is available at each station, what version of Epicor that you are on and also whether you are using the legacy HH/MES clients or the Epicor Manufacturing Wireless Warehouse  (EMWW) application….oh, and the overriding caveat of what you have available as a budget for this?

As for implementing barcodes on reports, this is a simple change to a checkbox in the Company Configuration | Modules | Inventory section and installation of the appropriate font
