We create product well in advance of our customers demand, we put this material into stock with our label on it. Three days before shipping to the customer we have to apply our customers provided RFID label and ensure it matches the existing part # we have on the box already. We have had issues where the labels do not match. Has anyone found a solution to this? anyone have any barcode matching software or thoughts?
We do something similar to this. We have some parts we receive from our parent company that we have to relabel with a customer label. We created a customization on the hand held that scans fields on the parent company label (part number, lot#) and then scans the serial number on the customer label (that we created) and verifies that it’s the part numbers match. There are some additional things the verify process does, like save the parent part lot# to the new label so if there is a quality issue we can identify the lot # to our parent company, and there’s a verify flag that gets set so that when shipping scans the box to put it on a customer shipment the system knows that it was matched.
