Proper DMT Load Sequence For GL Accounts

This will be my first time to download GL accounts from an existing E10 company and DMT-load them into a new one.  To clarify, loading them into a completely separate Epicor 10 system.  Our version is 10.2.700.

 

My question is about the relationships among the segment (Plant, Department, Natural account) and the full-in G/L accounts.  Our numbers have a four digit natural account, and two, two-digit segments.  I think I’m using the lingo correctly there.  Is it necessary to load the segments first, then the accounts?

Monty - You are correct, the segments need to be in the tables before you try to make the general ledger accounts.  Also, the COA Category needs to be on the natural account prior to those records being populated in the database.  With that in mind: COA Categories, natural accounts, then either plant or division, then the other - plant or division, then the general ledger account.  Have you already created the book with a retained earnings account ?
