Purchase Order Weight

We order material by the foot, but it would be nice to be able to see the weight of each line item on a PO.  This way, we can make sure one purchase order fills a truckload.  For example, part A we order 100 ft. and part B we order 200 ft.  100’ of part A weighs 10,000 lbs.  200’ of part B weighs 25,000 lbs.  To make a full truckload of 40,000 lbs, we would increase one of the items..  We do have the unit weight on the Part attributes.  Anyone have a solution?

There are no weight fields in any of the PO Tables so it would require creation of UD field(s), BPMs to populate the values and a form customization to show the results to the user.

We needed weight information on the sales order to know approximately how heavy a box would be when shipped out.  We wrote a BAQ to show the weight of all items on an order and added it as a separate tab on the order to show weights per product.  We then did a summary to add all lines to get a total weight.  I think you should be able to do that on a purchase order as well.
