Question

SSRS - Graph Output / PDF

We are running SSRS reports containing graphs periodically, sending them to a third party for visual display on screens within our business. They are asking if there is a way we can improve the output by controlling the resolution and/or pixel output size.

Can anyone advise if this is possible?

If you are displaying the reports as web pages, then windows will use the higher DPI if you are using SQL 2016+.  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/what-s-new-in-sql-server-reporting-services-ssrs?view=sql-server-2017

If you are rendering to PDF and need the PDF in a higher DPI, this article talks about changing the config file for reporting services to have a higher DPI.   https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b5417651-e20d-4058-94b7-0120a2d58af6/images-with-autosize-ignore-dpi-settings?forum=sqlreportingservices

What version are you using? If 10.2.500 and above you may want to start to explore the Epicor Data Discovery (EDD) live dashboards on the home screen as they can be set to update every few minutes.
