The goal of the session is to attempt to bring some clarity to the Epicor User Resource Community as we navigate Kinetic.  Having only budgeted two hours, we are trying to establish the need for future opportunities to discuss how we can align with one another and with Epicor to streamline the issues and obtain help more efficiently. 

Jennifer Mesiano and Shelby Ricketts of the TXEUG will moderate a panel with an agenda geared toward the following questions:

  • User Group Topics
    • Where are you going for User-based and community help?
    • Do users want to attempt an in-person User Group Meeting?
    • If not, is a virtual User Group Meeting a better option or a hybrid of both?
    • Do we want to limit it to Kinetic Issues?
    • Do we want to begin to classify some issues to be addressed?
  • Sample Issues:
    • Functionality
      • Unable to attach files in Kinetic (works in classic version)
      • History (Customer, Job, Order, etc. System shows history, oldest to newest and is not complete. Only shows first “X” amount of records)
      • Specific reports do not work in Kinetic View, must be printed from Classic view. (Receiving Material Tags for EX.)
      • Freighting in Kinetic Customer Shipment Entry generates error(Quick Ship) Must use Classic version of Customer Shipment Entry
      • Some Crystal reports not working with Kinetic, switch to classic or use SSRS
      • Kinetic Dashboards cannot update updateable dashboards, unable to enable auto refresh, randomly blank out
      • Kinetic Customizations - do not always save. We repeatedly have to enable full screen for Kinetic Dashboards.
    • Performance Issues
      • Web Client, better performance limited program availability (Many forms not available in web version)
      • Saving issues, system does not always save details entered (Kinetic only)
      • Unable to print at times, printer selection icon spins, cannot find any printers+
      • Export data to Excel - System only allows 1000 rows to be exported due to "System Performance" Reverting back to classic view allows export of all data
      • App server has to be rebooted weekly otherwise runs out of memory (RAM).
      • Local system crashes or runs slow (on users' PCs) Closing Epicor and logging back in seems to help.
