We are using Global Alerts for a small number of notifications via email within our organization. I have created a BAM to add an entry to a Change Log and to Send an Alert via email when an Order Release record is added or updated within Order Entry. I know the email functionality from Epicor is working as I am able to receive an email message when a Global Alert is triggered. What is the difference in configuration with the BAM vs. Global Alert? Why would one be able to successfully send out an email to inform me of something (Global Alert), but the BAM not?? The Global Alerts/Email process is running on the Epicor Server as an Active Task when looking at System Monitor. This is my first attempt at creating a BAM to send an email notification, so I'm not sure what I should look for to get this feature to work. Are you not able to create a Change Log entry and Send an Alert within the same BAM? Does each action require their own or separate BAM? If so, how would you configure that
We are running E9.05.700c and I need to be able to set the JobOper.SndAlrtCmpl on one of two different OpSteps to TRUE depending on if the manufacturing job is a Make to Order or Make to Stock. I tried creating a Data Directive on the JobHead table that would update the JobOper table when the JobReleased flag on the JobHead table was changed to TRUE. I could not get the Data Directive to update the JobOper table, even though I was able to read the JobOper table and JobProd tables when updating the JobReleased flag on the JobHead table. I created a Data Directive on the JobOper table to update the SndAlrtCmpl flag, but I could not use that as we load the Operation and Materials when we create the job, as required by Epicor. Once they on loaded, we create the demand link within the job. Under this process, we never add or update the JobOper table, so I was having difficulty identifying the job number from the ttJobOper table. I tried a Data Directive on the JobProd table, so when the
All,We are looking into the process (very preliminary) to convert from E9 to E10 within 2016. We are a manufacturing organization, and utilize Serial Number tracking extensively, and use MES on our Production floor. Our Epicor database is 50Gb in size and running on MS-SQL in a virtual environment.I would like to hear from the organizations that have already migrated, what worked well and what did not work well before/during/after the conversion? The approximate duration to migrate your database (preferably SQL users) to 702A and then to v10?I am interested in knowing if you performed the migration with internal staff, a 3rd Party organization, or if you used the Epicor Professional Services team? How many BPMs, BAQs, Dashboards, and Customizations did not convert properly and had to be recreated under v10 and how many did convert without issue?Thank you to everyone for any information you can/wish to provide.Glenn OwersERP Business AnalystT (705) 743-6903 ex 231F (705) 745-13942000 Fi
