Yes we had a similar issue, couldnt add any new people to existing groups/menus we had to create brand new security groups and menus unfortunately
Its a transactional database, its primary job is to grow in size by storing transactions.you need to invest in decent storage, no way out of that for the business it essential, not enough to just keep it going now but for the next few years, and as stated - do not shrink it, its a resource intensive task and your are also screwing up your indexes making everything even slower.sql generally performs better by staying “up” longer, as execution plans etc are loaded to memory. schedule patches for weekend nights etc if there is a free window, but a lot of patches don't need a reboot anyway. i do the odd regen in live without stopping the app pool, some might experience a slight pause, but nothing else
just in case anyone else has a similar issuesetup a contacttick shipping on contactcontact then gets attached to the shipping address on the sales orderthen you can use the CalcSemail field in Docstar to route the email to the correct email address!
i think what i need to do is use APR and add docstar attachments any one any guides on how to setup? thanksm
so based on Epicor support, it definitely isn't normal, the suggested resolution to restart app servers nightly is not great though as we run on shifts. but they can give no indication on why the application is holding so many open!
over 600 transactions today sleepingi really don’t think this is normal, it seems to increment by 100 a day so if we don't reboot our server we would soon have 1000’s of transactions, the memory required alone for this, would start causing issues
we rebuild/reorganize our indexes nightly but things like MRP can go from 30 mins to 60 mins over a period of time - this is ran out of hours generally so other tasks are not effecting it, but it is an issue if we have to rerun during the day
i cant say the issues are directly linked, but we have to reboot app servers etc every week as epicor keeps getting slower, processes such as MRP start to take much longer as soon as we reboot speed goes back to normal! this may just be a red herring i guess!
no one at all?
thanks folks, i will look into both your suggestions! mal
though in Purchase order receipts i could pass PO num and pack num from the 1 barcode!
i have found the emww reference guide which is useful! but i see no list of possible variable names apart from what is used in the examples also, i have setup a template on move inventory entry/transaction, dividing character set as *Fixed:${partNum}*${qty} when i then scan a QR barcode created with an online qr generator that has text behind it as0007-JC-BRS-SFFB-BODY*100 i get an error stating that “ This type of multi-value barcode is not supported in the form”when i set the the QR code to just be 0007-JC-BRS-SFFB-BODY, it scans fine? any ideas?mal
Suedo you have a list of the variable codes that can be used here? or a reference guide that i could use etc? thanks mal
anyone any advice on what best practice is here from an Epicor point of view? i am using both intercompany and 3rd party suppliers to fulfill orders, but i can see no method to print any sort of delivery paper work from the company that the customer order is placed on!? for intercompany drop shipment, yes, i can print paperwork from the shipping company, but then i have issues with sold to/deliver to addresses etcfor 3rd party supplier drop shipments i obviously have no other mean s of print delivery paperwork any advice appreciated thanks Mal
thanks for this Sue i will get a look at this and try your suggestions! i may be back with questions :) mal
