We are also a manufacturing company. and we also do some service calls and some customer training. One of our sections invoices their service work / training with a Miscellaneous Invoice. (invoice type is selected at invoice entry)The part number field in the invoice entry is left \blank but the Description field is used to describe the nature of the training/ service work undertaken. This section has setup a Product Group named “MiscWork” which has the appropriate GL Controls assigned to it, this is selected when entering the invoice, to manage/allocate the finances. Another of our sections does frequent service calls, so they have setup a, part called “ServiceCall” this is a non stocked, not quantity bearing part, with costs assigned to it and a Product Group and GL controls setup for the part. They then consequently simply invoice their service work just the same as a product sale ie the part number is selected on the Shipment Invoice etc etc..
Hi guys, @clloyd can you please pass on the KB Article number as the shortcut didn’t work. Thanks, Ross
I think you need to set your A and B quality parts as separate parts each with its own part number.eg part a_XYZ123 and part b_XYZ123You manufacturing job would be for the manufacture of say qty 100 part a_XYZ123 and also qty 1 of part b_XYZ123But your job completed quantities may be 80 Part a_XYZ123 and 20 part b_XYZ123. these should be logged into stock. The nice thing here is you now have quantities of each shown in stock and your A and B parts may have different costs. Part usage Part say J4567 (which is to be made) is setup with a BOM of 1 part b_XYZ123 and 1 part a_XYZ123And the manufacture of qty 50 of J4567 will be completed with material used as 20 part b_XYZ123 and 30 part a_XYZ123. Part say J9876 (which is to be made) is setup with a BOM of 1 Part a_XYZ123 only
Hi GarybMy suggestion is make the Parent Group in the report body to Group On “invoice number.”Show your Invoice Number in a cell in this groupSet the >Group Properties >PageBreak to “between each instance of a group” Put only the page number in the header or footer select the formula " page " & Globals!PageNumber & " of " & Globals!TotalPages as the formula to show it
Hi there Tim, is there any interest shown in the users in trying to reinvigorate the Oceania group? I notice that there was an effort a couple of years ago. It’d be nice to do some networking and maybe share some ideas…. Thanks, Ross
