Yes, we don’t use the Kinetic screens. The new version is named Kinetic because, the way I understand it, eventually the Kinetic screens will be the only option. We are hosted by Epicor on the government cloud. I don’t know if the processer upgrade or the new version fixed our issue but I will say they kept my ticket open and kept working to fix it until they resolved it.
We went from 8.03 on premises to 10.2.600 on the cloud. There was significant slowness to the point I put in a ticket. The caching helped a bit but it returned to almost as fast as our legacy version when they installed the new processors. I believe they can do some provisioning adjustments too that helped. I would say the provisioning and the caching helped 15%. The new processors and the upgrade to Kinetic 2021.1.3 got us 85%.
We had slowness in 10.2.600. There are some cashing things you can do to speed things up a bit. But when Epicor finished the switch to E11 our speed has been much better. I believe they installed faster processers at the server farm. I put a ticket in for it and they were able to walk me through the caching adjustments. Ed Ferrier,
If your guys are logging into more than one operation at a time and you are splitting labor hours, depending on how you choose to split those labor hours, this could make the two not match. Ed
Yes, we are current with the cloud 10.2.700. You are correct when you say the greatest delay seems to be during a database pull or save. We are eagerly awaiting an improvement as well. I know they were upgrading processors with some new AMD. I don't know if this has been completed yet. Regards, Ed Ferrier, PLSMFG
We have a similar complaint moving from on-site 8.03 to E10 cloud. I know they have been working on it and we have seen some small improvements since we migrated August 2020.There are a couple things that support can do with your cache and settings that help a bit too. I would ask them to look at that. Regards, Ed Ferrier, PLSMFG
If you just want to update the rates in the quote, go to Quote Details/Operations/Scheduling Resources tabs. Click the “override rates” button then click it again to un-check it, That will update your rates to the current rate stored in the resource group.Happy Holidays, Ed Ferrier
