We’ve got two 2019 servers running the 2023.1.6 version and both are running fine. I did need to install the .Net pre-reqs but that was it. Are you ahving specific errors?
There are a few other times you may need to run it: When installing Country Specific Functionality packs - these usually require it.When installing a CSG Extension like Document Sender - this usually requires it.When applying a patch of course - and what I’ve found is that sometimes I need to run it again after the Epicor installer finished and says it’s all good, but the appserver fails to start. Regen again usually fixes it.
I know I’m an outsider who only makes it once or twice up there, but I hope you can get this going again Doug. In-person or virtual - either way works - I enjoy seeing topics/solutions from other Epicor users.
In APR, in the Attach Document widget, you specify the Doc type (which needs to be previously setup/linked between ERP Doc Type and ECM Content type)
Neil is correct - the default workflow is the one attached to the Content Type. You can manually move the document to another workflow in ECM, but you could also alter the workflow to ‘determine’ which workflow the document needs to be in and move it there. For example, you create a content type called “Generic” with a workflow called “Determine Content Type and Workflows”. Each APR routing pushes the document to ECM as Generic, and the workflow takes over to determine which Content type and/or additional workflow the document actually needs to be in. Someone just needs to keep up with that generic workflow and take care of any documents who haven't moved along.
This is probably going to be a BPM. I know of nothing that does this out of the box, but with a UD field on Part (maybe called Country Restriction) you could identify Parts and then use a BPM on Quote/Order Lines to prevent the addition of those parts where inappropriate.
@Danielle.Holbrook & @slepley I could certainly help you out on this if you still need folks. We’re doing the same as Scott in our implementation and we’ve also got a list of items that we’d love to discuss.
yep - seems to be having some real trouble. I am sure that Jose is totally on top of it.------------------------------Michael GrossIT ManagerAshworth Bros., Inc.Winchester VA5406651338------------------------------
Fair question Scott as it is always of concern. We have an entirely separate server (virtual) setup to mimic production. We skip a lot of the smaller point releases unless we need something specific, but we use this separate server to test everything - especially the configurators. We also use this server to do a dry-run on the whole upgrade/patch including everything down to the client install/update.In effect this process gives me the "offline time" I'm going to need. Then I get my productions guys on the phone and we pick a time. Most of the time, I'm up at an ungodly hour on Sunday morning doing the work, but sometimes I get lucky and pick a holiday weekend or manage to convince them not to work 3rd shift or something. In Europe there is very little work on the weekend, so I['m really just working with the USA location for time on the weekend. The fallback position (and the one we had to use for the E9 to E10 conversion that took ALL weekend) was that they would run as minimal as t
For all intents, yes. We're not 7x24 in each location, but we are almost there. One location is effectively 5x24+2x16, another 2 locations are 5x16, but at a 6 hour time zone difference... what do you want to talk about?------------------------------Michael GrossIT ManagerAshworth Bros., Inc.Winchester VA5406651338------------------------------
