In answer to Doug’s point about SRM, we’re just starting on Kinetic 2023.2 and have buyers associated to Part Class which is helping with POSuggestions filtering and we don’t use SRM.
Keep it simple! A Gantt chart and a RAIL (Rolling Action Item List), tools that all users should be able to use and understand.
That would be of interest to us also. Currently in the E10 and Excel stage with the Kinetic upgrade in progress for next year
Good question, I’ve often encountered that in BAQ, so good to get some ideas here, thanks !
Another strand in Epicor’s strategy to bring everything in-house it would seem. Recent acquisition of DINet for EDI is one example. They don’t want us to use PowerBI, FastClose, or other non-Epicor systems.Did I hear that they wanted to integrate Microsoft Outlook or Teams into Epicor too?
I’ve just run the template with only the 3 required fields (Company, JobNum, PartNum) , put in a current job with no changes and run it into DMT, no error message about a licence. It did return an error after processing though - “…. JobNum 8342 PartNum 8342 Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.” and “….ForeignKeyConstraint HeadPart requires the child key values (IRACROFT, 8342) to exist in the parent table.” I don’t know why its returning the job number in the part number field as the data in the input table is correct. But that’s a different issue and as I’m unlikely to ever use this I’m leaving it alone! So I don’t get your error of a license.Maybe try doing an input with a very few columns/fields to update to see if it is field specific?Otherwise, don’t know, sorry. Alan
Are you able to generate the JobPart template in DMT, and have you got the right data in the key fields eg Company? All the compulsory fields completed?Just checking the basics first, I’ve not used that particular DMT but never had that warning message from any of the ones that I have used
We are also planning an upgrade from 10.1.200 to Kinetic next year. Things that we have identified to check include: - SQL reports and views, should still work as the tables are unchanged but apparently some schemas are different, so need to validateAny BPM, dashboard, or customisation in the systemAny screen modificationsPrinting routines and allocations linked to UserIDCheck posting rules There’s bound to be more that we haven’t thought about !
Our problem is that we are on 10.1.400 and not planning to upgrade to Kinetic until next year, but the benefits from hand-held are significant in our environment and hence want to roll out now if possible.
Also following this as we are actively investigating. First thoughts are basic cheap Windows tablets, need to ensure configuration releases MES licence when logged off though
