I’ve just run the template with only the 3 required fields (Company, JobNum, PartNum) , put in a current job with no changes and run it into DMT, no error message about a licence. It did return an error after processing though - “…. JobNum 8342 PartNum 8342 Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.” and “….ForeignKeyConstraint HeadPart requires the child key values (IRACROFT, 8342) to exist in the parent table.” I don’t know why its returning the job number in the part number field as the data in the input table is correct. But that’s a different issue and as I’m unlikely to ever use this I’m leaving it alone! So I don’t get your error of a license. Maybe try doing an input with a very few columns/fields to update to see if it is field specific? Otherwise, don’t know, sorry. Job Part Table

Are you able to generate the JobPart template in DMT, and have you got the right data in the key fields eg Company? All the compulsory fields completed? Just checking the basics first, I’ve not used that particular DMT but never had that warning message from any of the ones that I have used Yep i can get to the template, i have chosen all the required columns (although i have noticed that some of the required columns are not shown on the ‘Required Columns’ message window that pops up on some templates). I have never seen the message on any other template that i have used which makes me think it is not directly maintainable.

Heads UP! 2022.1.8 and a recurring MRP Issue

We are going live tomorrow and just ran into this after testing everything to be ok in 2022.1.6 and now have this error for Global scheduling and MRP. What is the fix and how do I get Epicor support to make it work? If you dont have access to epicare the this is what i got on my email from support - I have a fix from Development for this issue, could you please try this and let me know if it resolves the issue for you:NOTE: This should be done on both servers (primary and print) for the environment you are using, e.g. Pilot - Go to your AppServer's Website directory, you can see this in the EAC:- In this directory, locate the file host.config and open it Notepad- Locate the line </appSettings> then add the following above it:<add key="LauncherAuthenticationMode" value="Windows" />- Click File > Save to save the file. NOTE: If the "Save As" dialogue box is shown, you don't have permission to modify it directly. Save the file to your Desktop first, then copy the file in

I would ask them about applying a fix (ERP-40914 was the one they used for us) to your server to correct it, and also reference problem PRB0249226. They had to apply a fix (ERP-40914) to our server to correct it, and they also opened problem PRB0249226, which I see is still in Accepted status without any Resolution or Fixed in Release noted. Loading Jobs via DMT (Old system to new system)

We are also re-implementing by dump / transform / load via DMT, and are about to load some transactions into our “live” evaluation system to prepare for CRP testing. Interested to hear more about the loads being run, and the results. Likewise I have done this before but it was several years ago. Hi Monty, We failed at the first hurdle as our jobs were in such a poor state of affairs. I have now got the Operations guys to look at and cleanse what is currently in our E9 DB so that if we get any other issues on the next test cutover it should only be ones that may fall into an area we have not thought about. We currently believe we will have about 1000 ish jobs we will need to take over to Kinetic. Daniel

Customisation in Kinetic Apps

Yeah in E9 there was the menu options section which linked the same programmes together That does not seem to appear in Kinetic

Don't remember having to do it in E9? In fact I think it was the opposite in that we had to create custom menu options if you wanted the same programme to have different options for different users.

Issue with MRP Job Suggestions in Kinetic

That’s the problem, i cannot. Because i did a Data Model Regen etc.. the issue goes away and through no end of trying, i cannot get it to do it again. It is twice in two days it has done it though. Next time it happens i will look in Classic.

Just noticed a further issue with this, Customer Managed and Supplier Managed Bins work from the CustNum and VendorNum respectively despite when you setup manually you enter the Vendor ID. We have multiple Customer Warehouses and 1000s of bins in each one.

You do not use DMT to migrate from E9 to Kinetic (or E10). You use migration program provided by Epicor. DMT is not the way to migrate any of the data between versions. Once migrated, you can clean them up in new Epicor. You can also clean data in old DB before migration as well. Whilst i agree with you to a certain point/ When you have 20+ years of bad data on your current system, the Sirus migration tool is not the way to go and having spoken with EPICOR on this many times we agree that the clean up should be done before migration and migration should be Done using the DMT.

It should work if you sort your DMT file by CustNum. Again i agree with what you are saying, however, we are not taking over all of our customers from E9. Essentially we are starting afresh on a new system as it were, cleansing all of our data, getting rid of all of the dead wood and having a brand new Kinetic system with only ‘Live’ data in it. In everywhere i have worked previously the ID fields are the ones that have been used for reporting, links, DBs etc.. unfortunately it seems someone has had a different view in my current company PLUS we have a ‘Cowboy’ IT department that do not fall under the remit of the IT department and they seem to do things their own way as well. That bit i am not so bothered about, as far as i am concerned if their stuff breaks, that is their own fault Our old E9 system will be converted as is when we go live so that we have a historical view,

I totally agree but it seems like in the past someone has created external systems and DBs based on the CustNum and even the VendorNum! At the same time though the ****Num when we load the Customers and Vendors into Kinetic will be different to those that are in E9 which unfortunately is going to break quite a few links and also potentially means we will not be able to do a clean up of our ID fields to bring them into some sort of Uniformity.

Previous Due Date PO Release

You know what i think you are right with the UD field. Looking back i think i had to do something similar in a previous company i was in. It was similar to what they wanted but could not get the Previous Due Date field to work.

Isn’t what you are trying to do the same as what Epicor does with the ReqChgDate field? When you change the PO Release due date from say, 2/3/2022 to 2/10/22, Epicor is copying 2/3/2020 to the ReqChgDate field. The ReqChgDate field is populated is the previous DueDate field. As time permits I will look at your BPM. Yes and no in answer to your question. The ReqChgDate will be updated every time the Due Date is changed. We only want it to copy the original Due Date into the Previous Due Date field no matter how many times the actual Due Date is updated. It is a way to measure our suppliers on their performance.
