GL Journal Not Defaulting To Main Book

Incoterms on a Purchase Order?

In the latest release (2023.2) , Epicor introduce a new table for the Incoterms in addition to the FOB table. At this time it is only use in the sales forms quote, shipment and invoice. This can be doen from you Kinetic Menu :   Another little tips,  in case you want to check what are al the fields available in a table of Epicor, I will recommend to use the Data Dictionary so you can easily all the fields available.In this case, filtering in POHeader table on “Incoterms”, I can only find :  If you do the same on InvcHead (Head

Can We Make Epicor Post AR Bank Deposits In Summary

I just did a quick test in our test environment and  it is working fine. One cash receipt for 3 invoices in AR using that “AR Payment Method” with option : “Summarise per Customer” checked only bring one line in my Bank Statement when  dod the reconciliation. Let me know if it work on your side too.Thierry

Also did you check what the options on the Payment Method you use for the Cash Receipt.If you use “Summarize” Per Customer, I believe this will answer your question.

Can We Make Epicor Post AR Bank Deposits In Summary

Hi Monty,Did you try to use the “Automated Recognition AR” in Bank Reconciliation. This allow you to input or import 1 line from a Bank Statement and automatically create the cash receipt and apply it to the invoices. In this case, they is only one Manual Input and no manual input if you import the Bank Statement.This is the way we are use to do it here in Europe as most of the Cash Receipt are only appearing on our Bank Statement, so it can be different then the process you use in your side.Thierry Cools

Automated Entry of Price List

Another solution will be to use Automation Studio that will allow you to easily do this. AS will give you the possibility to select multiple sources (spreadsheet, csv, external db, other SRM system, other ERP, external api…) and have full control of this workflow. We just build this type of recipe for one our customer comecting iValua (SRM) and Epicor Kinetic.

Data Mining with products outside of Epicor

Hi Norman, we are an Epicor partner. At this time the best solutions we found to perform data mining on Epicor data is : REST API (this is ok for small amount of data). We use it to access Epicor data in Excel PowerQuerry, PowerBI, Tableau, ClickView...) FastClose. This is a reporting solutions that allow to explore Epicor data and help companies using Epicor to perform faster closing.  The solution exist for different version of Epicor 8, 9, 10 and they have recently now the possibility to access Kinetic Cloud Epicor data. The advantage of this solutions is that it has already all the view prepared for you, so you don’t have to build them in the BI Tools. You are correct changing to no summuryze will affect all transaction within this GL Transaction type however the only reason I was metionning “no summarization” is because if you change to that and you have not change the posting rules you will see that the amount was already split in different ellement (material, labour,….).  When you use summaryze as the account was the same you only had one total amount.So, as soon you will assign 3 or 4 different accounts, you can keep summaryze because in that case as the account will be different it will keep the detail as you wish. I hope this help, Thierry

Restricting access to confidential Vendor data

Hello,You can use “Field Security Maintenance”.As an example, this the Vendor Bank Information before my change :  This is my change in “Field Security :  I will completely hide the field Only show the 6 digits for the field IBAN Account Code  and fully masked the Bank Identifer (Swift Code)  This can be done for all or for goup of users or specifc user :   and this is the result after :   This can be done on any table fields and will be applicable to all forms using those fields.Let me know if this help, Thierrytco@pse.bePlatinum Services Europe

Hello Again, I had some time today, so I did a modification in my demo system to duplicate what you were looking for.In fact, the Posting Rules that impact the Cost of Sales for RMA Returns is already split between Burden, Labor & Material Cost.If you change the posting rules to run in detail in place of summary, you will see that the Cost of Sales will be split between the different element.  I suppose your posting rules is setup as “summaryze” and because the 3 posting rules are using the same function it brings the same account and you only see one line. So, if you chnage this to “No Summarization”, you will already see that the amount is split. Now, to change the account and have one different account for each tyoe of cost. They are two options :  Option 1---------------1° Add 3 Context in your GL Control to assign 3 different account for Cost of Return, so you have Cost of Returns - Material, Cost of Returns + Labour, Cost of Returns Burden, so also can have one for Cost of Re

Hello,You are correct. You will have to modify the “GL Transaction Type” COSAndWIP and modify in “Customization” this posting rules.  You will need to duplicate it, so you have 3 times this Posting Rules and then you will need to change the “Extended Cost” by Material Cost, Burden Cost, Labor Cost  Of course, you need to do this in a test environment first.Thierry

Hi Gary, I understand. Yes, you are correct. in standard, you can not specify what line you are paying.One solution, will be to use a user defined field in the payment process and ask the person that input the cash receipt to specify what line is paid and then use that field in the BAQ I suggest you to do. If it can not be done at the cash receipt moment, an other solution will be to list all the Invoices that are partially paid and their lines and using an “Updatable” BAQ update an UD field to specify the line paid or unpaid.I hope this can help,Thierry

Finding AR Balance Report Details

Hi Gary,I believe a simple BAQ will hep you to have the detail of your open AR by Line.Using those two tables :   You can also create two BAQ one with the “Open Invoices” and one “with the Lines”. Then you add them on a Dashboard and when you select the open invoice from the first BAQ automatically it will show you the line that belongs to this open invoice.The advantage of the BAQ is that you can call them by REST and expose them in Excel for example, so you can use this to automatically create the calculation of your Rebate.I hope the above help you,ThierryPlatinum Services Europetco@pse.be

Inventory WIP Reconciliation Report - Excessive Time To Complete - 3 hrs+

Hi Martin,This is great. I was suspecting this as it is the first time I was listening complain about this for customers moving to Kinetic.Concerning the Crystal/Report Issue, you can maybe use the SSRS Breaking Routing to issue the two file on the same time this will allow you to generate the CSV/Excel and the pdf on the same time. Also, IU really recommend if you did not do it yet to modify the WIPReconciliation report based on the standard one, so you directly have the correct column in Excel.Concerning FastClose the good thing is that their template can be run directly from Excel and all reports can be scheduled and work on the live database. Hi Martin,How many +/- transactions do you have unposted when you run the InvWIPRec report, so I can compare with other of our customers we have on the cloud.Concerning the lost of Crystal Report. In previous implementation, I have been modify the InvWip Report to make it easy to use in Excel (eg you can add add the part on each line and the accounts). This is possible by making a new report style.An other solution that can help is the use of FastClose that has some special template to reconcile the Inventory Wip. The solution exist since years and are use by different UK customers. The solution has been now release for the cloud. Tax Configurations Europe

Hi John,I believe the suggestion you received to have to use a Tax Liabilities for each Country you have a Tax Registration is the correct way to setup and to use your Epicor ERP solution.In your case, I will suggest to use DMT to upload those Tax Liabilities and do a setup of the tax code that is following a certain structure. We also recommend in addition to this setup to add some BPM to automatically select and verify that the correct Tax Liabilities is used when your user do the entry.Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more help on this,Thierry

 Hi Rebecka,Also if you have a lot of reports to do in PowerBI, I will recommend a product that we use that is FastClose that facilitate the work in PowerBI, as already this product have a lot of of prebuild views that extract the data from Epicor and allow you to see them directly in excel and/or in PowerBI.
