Using Projects with Service Call - Can't link to the Service Call for Invoicing

We would like to use the Project functionality with our Service Calls\Jobs but we have never been able to figure out how to get the Service Call to work with the Project so we can invoice.  We can link the Project to the Service Call by choosing it in the Service Call, but in the project where you choose Sales Order, etc there isn’t an option for Service Call.  So we don’t seem to be able to tie the revenue related to invoicing and Finance like we do with Sales Orders.  The project jobs collect the costs so that works fine, it is just the Revenue side.  I think we can link the Field Service Job to the Project, but again that doesn’t help with the Revenue side of things.  Just wondering if we are missing something, we have looked at this in 9.05, 10.1.400 and now in 10.2.700?

Inventory WIP Reconciliation report crashing

DescriptionWe have been troubleshooting report timeouts. We are finding when running the Inventory/WIP reconciliation report the report will run fine for one month but when run for 12 months, we get a string of errors in the reporting services error log. The error appears to occur while the report is generated, so it’s likely that the data has already been generated. However at some point the thread is aborted, and it is tough to tell if Epicor is terminating the connection to SSRS, or SSRS is crashing epicorHas anyone experienced similar errors when running Inventory/WIP reports? We are implementing Kinetic views in 2022.2.12. When we tested 6 months ago, it worked. Now it is not.Any ideas?

Scan a Serial Number barcode that is too large

We are receiving a battery which is a common commodity and we buy it off the shelf.  It has a 2D barcode that contains the serial number inside a 48 character string.Is there any way to get Epicor to exceed the 40 character serial number limit and read in the 48 characters? And can I get the Serial Number Mask to accommodate stripping a portion of the 48 character string?

SSRS date field problem

Seem to be having a weird issue with material tag report and this only seems to happen for one user and with one part type only labels and nothing else. quite a hard one to try to fix because i cant replicate it.the top one should look like the bottom image, im hoping that the date reverting back to the begining would help some figure out the issue. cheers

Cycle Count Tag Entry using EKW

Hello Everyone, We cycle count using EKW and Honeywell CK65 handhelds.In our bulk warehouse locations, we have several large rolls of material. The typical unit of measure for these rolls is LF (Linear Feet). Bin H1 is one bulk location, it usually contains several different part numbers and several rolls of each different part number, i.e. 5 rolls of XX61 and 7 rolls of XX10 etc.Attached to each roll is a barcode label that contains its part number and quantity.A Cycle Count generates 1 tag for PN XX61 @ bin H1. In Bin H1 there is a total of 525,000 LF of XX61 (3 rolls @ 100,000 LF each, 1 Roll @ 105,000 LF and 1 Roll @ 120,000 LF.).  Using EKW Count Tag Entry for part number XX61we scan the first roll for quantity 100,000 and the next for 120,000.  The count quantity recorded is 120,000, the last quantity scanned.   In other word’s if you scan a roll for 100,000, and the next roll scanned is 120,000 the count tag quantity entered is 120,000.   What we desire is the sum of 100,000 and

Activating WCF Services in Kenetic ERP

All,AS we know, Epicor Kenetic ERP does not have WCF activated and does not include the SVC files in the installation.  They provide the option to reactivate it by adding a hidden key to the Ice.SysConfig table.  The script to do it is in the Websites\EpicorERP\Server\WCF folder.  But there are no instructions or provision for reinstating the SVC files.  Has anyone on Kenetic reactivate WCF and, if so, where were the SVC files sourced from?  Thanks.bb

Purchase Advisor Site Filter

Hello everyone, I’ve been at my company for about a year and a half now and one of my co-workers brought up that Purchase Advisor used to display information for ALL sites. I haven’t been able to find anything about the PA having multiple sites displayed and some of the fields look to be calculated in the back end by Epicor.  I was just wondering if the purchase advisor did in fact have that site filter and if it would be possible to add some sort of customization to create that site filter?

Update PO due date from New PO Suggestion - Material List tab

Is it possible to update PO due date from New PO Suggestion - Material List tab?Under the New PO Suggestion screen, we normally review our suggestions from the Material List tab then tick the "Buy" column and generate PO from there.  However, the "Due date" fields on this screen is greyed out (see below). So to update the Due date before the PO is created, we have to go into the Suggestion - Detail tab and in there the Due Date is field is NOT greyed out (see below).  Is it possible to update PO due date from New PO Suggestion - Material List tab?Thanks.

Tracking supplier deliver

When an item is late, we would like to attach a reason, and comments.Is anyone doing this inside of Kinetic-ERP.We looked around and thought it would be great to use the memo process if related to the receipt header/dtl but it is note. Another idea is to use a UD table auto populat when a receipt is late, then add comments.Thoughts anyone?

Min OH Incoproration Date

Curious what others are doing to drive a situation like this. I believe I know the answer but ready for suggestions. We have an initiative in our company of getting all our LTA parts to a 2 month inventory level, ideally we would already be there but we are not and not looking to blow up our shops with all past due jobs. The goal is to set a min-oh level to our target but that is going to generate immediate requests for jobs that are past due. We can put in a phased approach of getting there by using MPS but its not driving to the inventory rule. Essentially what I am looking for is a way to incorporate my inventory rule at a projected date such as a horizon. Again, I do not see any direct way of this and understand between forecast and mps we can plan for this but it does not drive it on the inventory target.

AR Remit To Address - LockBox Service

Looking for recommendations for how customers have created AR Remit To Addresses within Epicor to display on AR forms?  We are scoping the use of our financial institution’s lock box service in which all check payments will be sent directly to them for opening and logging before being sent back to us for payment entry, it does not appear Epicor has AR Remit To Address fields, so we are assuming custom fields are the only option?Thank you in advance!

figuring job cost in multiple layers

Ok here is my problem.  I am new at my company and do not know why we do what we do.I have job A and the total cost is $100.00 and it goes into Inventory correctly.  Job B takes that finished part as a raw material and goes to a plater that charges $10.00.  Part B goes into inventory as $110.00.  When we issue part B to a job the cost comes into the new job at 2-3 times the price in inventory for Part B.I have looked at part transaction history and production detail report.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

PO removed the release code

Good Morning,We ran our capture cost at the end of April and got a review journal entry throwing an error for “Transaction does not balance”.  We located the PO and line that was throwing the off balance and somehow the release had no GL.  We don't know how this constraint was broken since it will normally just revert to 9999s.  The PO has already been invoiced and paid so we cannot change it.  Now our balance is off -$2,114.86.  Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this offset?

Part Number associated with a Corrective Action

I’m being asked to add a part number reference to the corrective action form.  I’m guessing that’s not a great option as you can associate a corrective action with a nonconformance & DMR which has the part number but I wanted to check with other organizations to see what they are doing to categorize corrective actions by part number.  Please advise any input you may have.  I would appreciate it.

Using AP Automation with ECM verses ESKER

Wanted to ask this question about ECM (Doc Star). Is anyone using ECM for AP automation? if so do you like it and how does it compare to other AP automation solutions? Our company received a recommendation to use ESKER, and we are exploring that possibility, but I wanted to see if anyone is currently using ESKER  and how it compares to ECM. I would think that since ECM is now a Epicor product it would work better with Epicor than ESKER, but I don’t know that to be true. Thanks, for your responses.

Kinetic (cloud) - display memo when entering CustID on Sales Order

In our 10.1.400 environment we have a customization in place that pops a window displaying the memos for the customer when we enter the CUSTID on the Sales Order Entry screen.We are working toward migrating to Kinetic/cloud. I understand that the preferred interface is the browser interface so I’m testing that. This customization doesn’t work in the browser interface (it works in the client). Is it possible to do this in Application Studio?

BAQ-Recursive BAQ for a Costed BOM report

Wondering if anyone has created a BAQ report or Dashboard that is utilizing a recursive BAQ to create COSTED indented BOM report.     If so, would you be willing to share that BAQ with all of us?   I have been told that using a CTE query that a recursive BAQ could create a better Costed BOM report that is exportable to Excel than what Epicor has provided for the last 12 plus years.   Looking to see if anyone has already created something like this and if they would shared that.    I have put in a request or Epicor IDEA for a better Costed BOM report / Dashboard that is exportable to Excel, where it would be useable in Excel, unlike the report that is available now.   Need to get Votes put in for this, so that it becomes part of the newer releases at a minimum.    In the mean time, I thought I would see if someone has already created the wheel and was willing to share that with the group, as I see this as something everyone would benefit from. If you have something your willing to share

10.2.500 Ctrl S Search option

Team,We use this function throughout most of our depts regularly but somehow in the last week the Ctrl S function is not working for anyone for Part Entry or Part tracker.I don’t use (can’t even see that new Quick Search) like everyone else and do not have a Named Search setup and the Ctrl S doesn’t work for me either. We did create a Quick Search option and then setup a few people with a Named search using that Quick Search option for Part. How did we mess up this global option or what logic am I not understanding?Thanks for any insight you may have.Melissa

When Grids Turn Light Gray

Kinetic 22 and 10.2.700 with WinForms (classic) screens Has this happened to you?I’m clicking along in K22 or I’ve seen it happen on 10.2.700 as well, using my WinForms screens and getting things done.  I search for an order, customer, anything really, and pull in a search result, and most of the time it works normally but sometimes, maybe twice a day, all my Epicor screens turn a washed-out gray color, with the print only a slightly darker shade of gray than the background, causing everything to become hard to read.  I can close the screen, reopen it, to no avail.  Exiting the software and starting it again, brings me back to normal. When I’m in the broken, gray-on-gray state, if I select grid contents and Copy To Excel, even the resulting Excel sheet shows the light-gray print with a slightly lighter gray background.Have you seen this? Thanks,..Monty.

AR Cash Receipt - Bank Fee gets automatically added to the receipt by error

AR Cash Receipt - Bank Fee gets automatically added to the receipt by error but they not visible, unless you force run an Edit List. The cash receipt module is otherwise stuck, can’t apply amounts from within, -negative index error-, can’t revert receipts, basically stuck.Our company uses 2 types of Bank Fees - A bank charge, and an interest charge, they both are GL controlled into specific accounts, nothing special.We are using DMT to upload cash receipts sometimes, not always, and only 1 customer has Bank Fees in their receipts.
