Kinetic Upgrade - Customization Binding Errors

I am looking for some help in updating some customizations that didn't fully convert on my test environment. Column not visible in dashboard grid

I have a dasboard I updated to group by our Engineer’s name on opening. However, now if a user wants to pull the name back down into grid to sort or group by something else, the Engineer’s name does not show in the grid. Properties show the field is marked Visible False. I have tried to recheck the visible box, save, and redeploy. But when we re-open the dashboard it goes back to being marked Visible False (checkbox cleared). This is the first time I’ve seen this issue in one of our dashboards.  Any ideas as to why and how to fix?ThanksMelissa

Kinetic 2023.2 PO Suggestions - Filtering

We are just starting our testing of 2023.2.x. There is a new menu item for purchasing that combines the New and Change Suggestions screen which is great.However, we have different users in charge of different types of purchases and want to have multiple filters applied to the Landing page to be more efficient. For example, a tool crib manager purchases the tooling and Supply Chain team purchases materials. In classic mode there is an option on the grid for custom filtering with multiple filters. See below.I am new to the Kinetic screens but I don’t see an option like this. Am I missing something or has Epicor limited the options?Thank you for any information or direction.Melissa

Excel Data Only Some GL reports error out when trying to print to Excel Data Only

Invty WIP Reconciliation & Journal Listing reports will not render to the Excel Data Only option. Had this issue when upgraded to 2022.2.14. Support said broke will be fixed in future.I updated our test environment to the .25 and then .28 patch and these reports run fine using this option. Updated last night to the .28 patch on Production and still have error out issues.Here is part of message:Program Ice.Services.Lib.RunTask when executing task 1327233 raised an unexpected exception with the following message: RunTask:System.ArgumentException: The shared data source must be specified. User cannot see menu but no menu security

Ok team, here is an odd one….I have a user that has a full Epicor license, has favorites setup for menu items in Inventory and Purchasing, but the Material Management high level menu is not shown in her menu tree. If she searches for something like PO Entry, which is on her favorites tiles and uses all day every day, there are no search results. I reviewed the menu security for both the main Materials Management and the sub menus  of Inventory and Purchasing and they have the checkbox checked for the Allow All Access.Any ideas on why we can see those menu items but she has the Favorites for some of the menus under the General Operations?I’m stumped..ThanksMelissa

Test Environment - 2 different versions of Kinetic

I am wanting to install 2023.2 on my test environment but also want to keep my 2022.2.28 instance for any current version testing. It seems when I do the 2023 install it overwrites my 2022.2.28 items in Admin Console and I see no option to get the database or appserver back. If I try to add the db it only gives me the option of my old 10.2.500 or the new Kinetic 11.2.400. No 11.2.200 for the Kinetic 2022.2.Can we not have both versions on a test environment? If we can, does anyone have the path to a document that lays out how to do this?Thank you,Melissa

Help Menu Access for all users

We are on 10.2.500.35 and the Help menu is not accessible for anyone but me it looks like. I have the Company Maintenance url setup the same as what the KB0046362 (https://help.epicor.com/102500) shows for our version but get the 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Not sure how long this has been going on since I use it with no issues. Please advise what I have to setup differently on our system so all users can access the help screen

Lot number for Mfg Receipts - Custom

I am looking to see if it is possible, or if someone has already figured out a way, to customize the Lot number on the Job Receipts to Inventory, that defaults with the job number, with additional information.  For example we want that job number but we also want the “REVB” added to the job number so we have job 12345REVB as the final lot number for the parts going into inventory.I feel a BPM is in my future but not quite sure where to start with this if it is even possible.Thanks for any direction or insights.Melissa H

STRING_SPLIT error when trying to print a PO for international supplier

Last week we had an issue where we could not get a PO to print for a supplier. Turns out it was for a new ship to that is in Canada. When I looked at System Monitor the error referenced a STRING_SPLIT error.Contacted Epicor and googled it and got a recommendation to up our compatibility level on the SQL Server 2017 to the 140 level from the 120 level I had it set on. Great PO and Subcontract Pack Slip now printed.However, there were some SSRS custom reports that started taking 3-5 minutes to render where they had been seconds. Not all reports, just some. And when those were running the SQL Server CPU pegged out at 100%. Not good. I contacted Epicor again, since they assured me that upping that level would not affect anything else in our system. I put compatibility back at 120 since the Intern’l supplier POs will be few and far between so I’ll just work around it. But now there is a dashboard that shows a “Bad SQL Statement - See Logs” error. When I review the logs, it shows that same S

SSRS Part supply and demand

I am trying to build a report that shows our total supply and demand. A very condensed version of a time phase. I’d like a 1 row per part set of information.  I have got everything I need except for Forecast totals by part.I am using Part, Part Whse, Part Plant, and Job info all linked up and good. As soon as I try to add the ForeQty to the report and do the query relationships it all goes awry and I get a bunch of duplication and summing issues on most of the fields I already had showing correct values Good so farAdd forecast field and relationship and it goes wonkyIf I unhide the details it looks like it is repeating for the 7 firm sales orders we have, but I don’t even have SO info on here.Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or do I just have to build this a different way?

Added Date Picker field using application studio

I have started to delve into the Application Studio universe and have a question.I added a date picker component to my OrderRel screen.I have the EpiBinding set up for the OrderRel_UD.Date01 field.I previewed and then committed \ published the new layer.I added this Kinetic customization to the Order Entry screen.I closed Epicor and relaunched and open Sales Order Entry and picked an order.I entered a date into the field and saved the record. I exited the order and went back in. The date that I entered did not ‘stick’. The field is blank.Where did I miss a setting or a property setup? I have handful of these types of ‘customizations’ I need to recreate which seems straightforward but I need to figure out this detail so I can proceed.Thanks for any help you can provide.Melissa Hietala

Operational Metrics - Production standards

I am looking for some help or ideas on how to solve the following situation.In Epicor jobs we have operations that have a production standard tied them (pieces per hour) that is the primary driver for load for scheduling and capacity planning. We set the production standard, but they can and are updated based on an improved process, new tooling, different machine, etc. What we are looking for is a way to keep the production standards up to date but to have a way to track where we started with the standard in comparison to where we may get to in improvements or maybe even reductions.We are looking for a way to manage and give ‘credit’ to our different when we make gains that improve our capacity planning, ability to give customers price reductions, or see where we need to add machines or automate certain departments. Capture cos\wip activity out of balance

We are trying to do month end and when running the Capture process it errors out. We reviewed the Review Journal and it shows the transaction being out of balance. We found the PO that is the issue and throwing the balance off by 88.10. The PO release did not show or have the default GL account listed. I re-open the PO and releases and did the Get Default button as one of the Epicor knowledge articles suggested. Worked great.Ran capture again but still errored. I wanted to delete the receipt and redo (to have it pull correct info for the transaction)it but we already invoice and posted for this po receipt and it won't allow me to delete and redo.What are our option here so that we can get the capture in balance and finish our month end process?Thank youMelissa H

New Part Count Tag in MES>End Activity

I have a situation where we need to print a “move tag” when an employee does there MES labor entry>End activity. There is a Print Tag button currently but the information my staff wants is not all on the default tag. And they additions are also not on the Data Definition for me to modify the out of the box.So any tips on how create a new, modified tag and either attach it to the current out of the box button or just do a customization and create a new button? My biggest concern at the moment is how to create a new tag with current end activity information (job, op seq, revision, and next op code or location). The goal would be to have the same functionality as the current out of the box tag but with more and better information.Any already documented process, instruction, or examples would be appreciated.Thank you

Resource Scheduling Board Classic 10.2.500.35 Error

We have 1 resource scheduling board we cannot access. When resource id entered and try to launch we get a "Build Resource Line" application error. All other resources are fine and launch as expectedError detail shows message - Nullable object must have a valueClient Stack trace references "1.ShouldRethrowNonRetrayableExceptionError on 1 resource board Any Ideas on the issue? 10.2.500 Ctrl S Search option

Team,We use this function throughout most of our depts regularly but somehow in the last week the Ctrl S function is not working for anyone for Part Entry or Part tracker.I don’t use (can’t even see that new Quick Search) like everyone else and do not have a Named Search setup and the Ctrl S doesn’t work for me either. We did create a Quick Search option and then setup a few people with a Named search using that Quick Search option for Part. How did we mess up this global option or what logic am I not understanding?Thanks for any insight you may have.Melissa

API Integration using Jitterbit - New Hire

We have created some API’s to connect the HRIS application Paylocity to Epicor. We are setting up in Paylocity with all of the pertinent emp data, benefits, deductions, taxes, etc. We previously used Epicor’s Payroll module.We need to keep basic emp data in and updated in Epicor so that we can keep our time\labor entry and costs to job costing among other reasons. I have the employee changes up and running (to our test db) and i have the New Hire as well. However, when I go to Epicor to verify when the New Hire process runs I am getting a pop that says I need a pay rate and will not let me save or exit the menu without it.So we added another operation to Update the record we just created with pay rate info from Paylocity as the pay rate info is a different table\service and those fields are not available on the PREmpMas table\schemaWe are getting an error: Error details: <ErrorType>null</ErrorType><HttpStatus>500</HttpStatus><ReasonPhrase>null</ReasonPh

AP - Posting process that creates the IJ Journal Code

We have had an accounting manager leave our company and since then we are not seeing in our Chart tracker, the daily IJ posting entries from Receipt entry that puts the receipts into our Accrued AP account. No one seems to think that there was a process he was running but when we run that Chart tracker for that account, we see daily postings that coincide with the receipts. We are now trying to figure out basics on how these postings occur.Any back to basics info would be appreciated.Melissa

Scheduling Board - One user cannot get the Move Time popup screen to reschedule an op

I have one user that a couple of months ago cannot get the Move Time screen to pop up with he double clicks on the bar in the scheduling board or if he right clicks on the job in the list (Classic View). It works for everyone else as normal. He has been scheduling for like 20 years.At first I thought it was may related to a different issue I called into support for that is now fixed on patch .30. However, even with that patch, logged in as him I still have same issue.I looked at where I think any security would be called out and he is part of all special security pieces I have for everyone else.I can drag a bar on the scheduling board but it never comes up with the pop screen to allow him to pick what kind of reschedule (All job ops, subsequent ops, etc). If I do the bar double click or the right click on job and choose the MoveItem Time option, it looks like it does something, kind of flashes, but the screen doesn’t show. I double checked it wasn’t opening on another screen (that kind

Payroll integration to Paylocity

Team,We are looking to move our payroll to Paylocity and looking for anyone who uses Paylocity but are integrated with Epicor. We are looking to have the employee information flow to Epicor from Paylocity and time punches move from Epicor to Paylocity so we can process payroll.How \ who do we use for integration? Material Kitting for an automation mfg cell

We are looking for a way in Epicor to ‘kit’ a set of tooling that are listed as material lines in a job. So we have job for a finished part and that job has a list of tooling in the materials section. Say 20 tools all called out on their own material seq lines.In our automated mfg line we want to have a tooling kit set up so that when we run this top level mfg part on this line, the machinist just needs to pull the kit box out to do the setup. The intention would be that if a tool is in a tool holder or collet or whatever, they would be left in that device for the machine in the kit box.My question is this - What would be the best way to track all of the individual tools that go into the “kit” part number if we just use that “kit” part number in the material list of job. So, theoretically, 1 material line on the job but that material line somehow tracks the 20 different tools needed and keeps the individual tooling part number inventories in line?Any insight on what any of you do or Ep

10.2.500.30 - HCM to Epicor payroll integration - Reports

We are now integrating with HCM module and I am trying to create some reports for audit purposes using SSRS. I did get setup as a payroll manager so I have the correct security, but when changes are made in HCM and information is successfully updated in Epicor, those employees data is not showing up on my reports.For example, I made a change to an employees Comment field in Epicor Payroll entry. HR staff made some contribution changes to a few staff members that did successfully populate in Epicor as we would expect. However, now those 5 employees deduction data (for example) will not render on my report. If I just run an employee list I got all 195 people. If I add fields for the PREmpDeduct table or rate info from the PREmpRt tables (2 different reports) those 5 staff members info will not render on report.Thank youMelissa

Kinetic - PPV on Raw materials Question

My Director of Finance came to me with a ‘finding’ from an audit around the recorded costs of raw materials.We have Raw Materials set to Lot\Avg costing.PO is created for $100. PO is received and then invoice comes in at $150.00, We do see the PUR-CST transaction for the difference but the Costs tab on the material Part is not updating. He is looking for the system to automatically update the lot or avg costs when these types of situations occur. To clarify, all cost seem to record on jobs correctly if material is Purchased Direct. It’s just they are looking for the value of the inventory to automatically update.Is this possible and where can I learn more about how to setup and test it out?Thanks for any direction you can provideMelissa

10.2.500 Constrained material

Looking at Help menu it looks like the Constrained Material checkbox is something we would like to test and use. However, the box is greyed out. The part is marked as a stocked as help suggests.Do we need another module or a global setting to make this box available.ThanksMelissa
