Job Entry - Purchasing Information (RFQ Needed)

Does anyone know how the checkboxes in Job Entry → Job Details → Materials → Details for Purchase Direct / RFQ Needed work?We are attempting to design a process for Prototyping new items we are being asked to produce.  We were hoping by clicking this checkbox, a notification would be presented (somewhere) that our Purchasing team could act on and send out a RFQ for the required material.Is anyone do this and if so how are you working with the Epicor software to make it work.  We are currently running E10, but are testing this in our new Kinetic environment, so I am hopeful we don’t have something configured properly to make this work.Any insight or thoughts are appreciated.

Time Phase Inquiry

We recently upgraded to Kinetic 2021.2.16 and when we try and run Time Phase Inquiry we get an error? Is anyone seeing this as well that has upgraded to 2021.2.16?

Income Statement BAQ Question

I am looking for a Query or BAQ to display the items sold, price, and quantity that comprise up the income statement on two accounts.   I am struggling to determine a way to compare the values that comprise the two accounts that I am trying to match up to Shipped Products.  Any thoughts??

GRNI GL Account blank

When we run the GRNI report we get some apparently random records that have no GL Account displayed on the report. The transactions appear to be be being posted correctly when cross referenced to the Inventory/WIP transaction report.Example of the GRNI with random empty GL is below:Has anyone seen this before and/or have ideas on how to fix? Thanks,Brian.

BAQ - New Invoices from customers who have not purchased for 2+ years

I am trying to create a BAQ to display (month to month - using range parameters) the new invoices from customers who have not made a purchase in two or more years.  Epicor 9 used to have a “Last” option in the BAQ designer, I believe, but I haven’t had the need to do anything like that for a while, so I have no idea where to start. I also need to determine invoices (from this same monthly range) where an active customer is now purchasing from a new shop they’ve never bought from previously, or a shop they have not purchased from in at least two years.  I’m stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thank you!

Reaching out to hear how other users are handling the abrupt closure of Source Information Systems,  the company that delivers and supports AgileShip Connect and AgileShip Manifest.    Will you be migrating to Epicor QuickShip or will you be migrating to another solution?   Any thoughts that could be shared would be welcomed.

Unfirm Jobs with no Due Date

I have a handful of jobs generating without Job Due Dates. It is inconsistent, meaning for part X, half the jobs have Job Due Dates, the other half do not. There are all make to stock. Some other parts have no Job Due Dates what so ever.Out of 1550 unfirm jobs, 41 total jobs have no Job Due Dates generating.

DMZ Application Server

We are trying to setup an application server in our DMZ to allow external access to Epicor and rest api, as we are hosted on-premise.We have contacted Epicor for support, and escalated, but they have no idea what they are doing and can’t answer us.Has anyone setup this scenario before?  Epicor told us to use the Application server in the DMZ as this is the most secure. We could use a reverse proxy, but since Epicor told my management that the application server is the most secure, we have to use it.We have an app server setup with usernamewindows channel. Our firewall is allowing sql ports through and we have the outside limited to the one IP address.When trying to connect to the application server,  we receive a userfile.svc error message. We can access rest api help page, but when we make calls, it appears to get stopped by SQL because the username appears to be NT authority/anonymous. Thanks!

Group Labor Entry MES

We have two powder coating lines with 6 employees working per line. One employee handles the work registration while the remaining 5 assist.Currently, the 5 assistants do not report their work, resulting in only registering indirect hours (IDLE). The durations of work order operations vary from 20 minutes to several hours.Especially with short series, the work registration operator struggles to log in the remaining 5 assistants to the work order in MES.We now aim to have all work hours recorded on the work orders to avoid IDLE hours and accurately allocate costs to work orders. We prefer not to perform hours backflushing as it still logs IDLE hours.Current version is EPICOR 10.2.700.40.We are looking for a simple method to have the entire team of 6 people logged in and out to the work order at once. Is this possible in EPICOR? Thank you in advance!

LaborDtl Storing JCDept on Indirect Labor

We have an instance of some records in LaborDtl that have a JCDept assigned, even though the transaction is for Indirect labor.  How would it assign a JCDept code even though the entry was for an Indirect Expense code?  Not only that, but it’s assigning our General department (30) rather than the department the employee belongs to (23).I’ve looked at the indirect expense codes and I cannot find anything that looks out of sorts.For example, one employee has 3 entries for funeral leave for 3 consecutive days.  2 of the entries do not have a JCDept in LaborDtl, while the 3rd one does.  It isn’t affecting anything seriously, just some reports that are comparing both the JCDept in LaborDtl and the JCDept assigned to the employee.We are on Epicor 10.2.500.13.

BAQ Stock Value Report

I was using a BAQ Stock Value Report that would show me ALL items / Parts in our system and the quantity on hand for those parts, along with Standard Labor, Material, Material Burden, SubCont Costs.  It got overwritten!  Now I am trying to re-create it. I have NO filters, but it is not giving me any Raw Material, only some Hardware items, etc.  It is excluding some items, I know our on the floor out there.  I am using Part.PartNum, PartWhse.WarehouseCode, and PartWhse.OnHandQty.   Do I have something wrong in my Sort Order that is excluding items?

Credit Cards and PrePayments

Our AR team is asking these questions:When we use the Credit Card terms code, does Epicor hold that order if the authorization is not done?When we use the PrePayment terms code, does Epicor hold that order until a prepayment is applied? I say no to both (at least out of the box) because there isn’t any connection between the terms configuration and AR except the discounts and number of days. There is the Credit Card Order check box on Customer Maintenance. I believe that ONLY causes new orders to be entered as Credit Card orders but that doesn’t prevent the order from shipping if the authorization step isn’t completed.  Please confirm or correct me!

EDI using Demand Management in Kinetic

Has anyone been able to figure out how we can put EDI orders through Demand without it keeping history or triggering scheduling?  Since we do not use contracts for hand-entered sales orders, we do not want EDI orders to use contracts either.  Has anyone been able to see if there is some way to skip that part and just have the EDI order be a regular sales order?

Freight forwarders

Epicor ERP seems to have very little functionality with respect to freight forwarders, and what the application actually does have seems not to be interconnected to any other functionality where it would be useful. The freight forwarder information in Site Configuration apparently does not automatically populate into a new customer record or a new customer ship-to record, so entering any information there seems not to serve any worthwhile purpose without introducing customization. Likewise, any freight forwarder information entered in a customer record or a customer ship-to record apparently does not automatically populate, and cannot be retrieved, into a sales order as a ship-to address, so entering any information there also seem not to serve any worthwhile purpose. With respect to freight forwarders, we need to improve our capabilities to gather and document shipping information for export compliance and sales tax compliance. So, I’m wondering if I am completely missing some key asp

Secondary Warehouse Bin for Inventory Part

I have added a secondary warehouse bin location for overflow. I have the primary bin marked. I have inventory in both bins. Question is when the part is included in the cycle counts will there be a tag generated for each bin? Also when the part is issued to a job will it decrease the primary bin? Thanks,Lisa Meeks

Indented BOM Pulling Prior Revision

Hello, My company uses Epicor Kinetic.  I have noticed something peculiar and concerning.  When a subassembly is revised, the out of the box indented BOM report is not exploding the child (it is set to View As Assembly) or pulling the latest revision of the item.   The previous revision is Not Approved, but the latest is.  I tried up-reving the parent assembly in case it needed to be updated for visibility of change to the child assembly to no avail. We have “Use Part Rev” as default for all our items. Has anyone experienced this?  What settings in the backend ensure latest is always pulled by default? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Kelley Long.Engineering Document Control Manager/Configuration Management

User has NO custom dll files

Hello, I have a particular user who cannot access any of our custom dashboards.  when I browsed to her Shared/CustomDLLs folder we found that it is completely empty.  I may be able to copy my own DLLs and load them into her folder but I worry she wont’ get updates or new dashboards.  what would cause this ? we are Public Cloud on 10.2.700.8

Purchase Order DMT for Blanket PO

Hello,Has any one successfully loaded blanket/contract purchase order via DMT? I keep getting a vague invalid qty error, but does not give me specifics on which qty is invalid.  I have tried several different combination on the Purchase Order Header, Purchase Order Detail and PO Combined.  I can only get the Contract info updated at the line level, but not at the header level.  TIA!

FedEX API for Quick Ship

We are currently running on Quick Ship 5.4.   We are experiencing a problem with FedEx (truck) LTL shipments.   We do have the FedEx API module for Quick Ship.   When we try and create a customer shipment entry using our existing parts, we are getting an error about our parts Weight(s).  I did confirm with Quick Ship that the FedEx LTL portion of the module is rather “picky” and that you need accurate net weights on all your parts.  Since I have no weights on my 90,000 part(s), I was hoping to group them in some from, and update them in mass.  The problem I am running into is that I cannot get confirmation from either FedEx or Quick Ship, on how accurate the weights need to be.   I am concerned if we are to liberal with our weight calculations, I will have an issue.Anyone having success using FedEx LTL via quick ship?

Driving Earlier Demand

My company currently has a large backlog and is looking for a solution to drive demand sooner in Epicor then we'd typically see. Here's the breakdown of our scenario.- Once a quote is won, within two weeks we have the complete list of the raw materials needed to build the part, but not what sub assemblies they're going into. - Our Mechanical Engineers need several more weeks to build the model and define the final job structure, including sub assemblies. At that point they create the part masters for the sub assemblies and the finished good part, then they create the Job. - These materials have either a long lead time or we need a large quantity of them, so to drive demand earlier they cut RMAs for all of the materials. RMA's have been working ok, but the biggest issue is that they're cutting them to stock because the Job isn't built, but when they build the job, if the RMA hasn't fulfilled yet, they're getting double demand. Any idea's on another way to do this? "Query execution failed for dataset OrderHed" in Order Acknowledgement after upgrade

We have just upgraded our Pilot system from 10.2.500 to 10.2.700.Having a lot of issues with the Order Acknowledgement report. To cut a long story medium length, after overcoming an initial hiccup with a bit of help from EUG members (thank you!) I then started to get the dreaded “Query execution failed” error on the OrderHed dataset, which usually means there is a field in the RDL that is excluded from the RDD. I couldn’t find it.I ended up copying the standard Epicor RDL as a test form, then added the query fields from my custom RDL to the test one, and added them to the field list also, so the new test RDL ended up the same as the Epicor standard form but with the dataset properties for OrderHed exactly the same as the custom one that keeps failing. Tested it with my custom RDD at each stage and it worked.Went back to the custom RDL and it failed again, even though the dataset properties are exactly the same. I know I am not looking for a field in the form that doesn’t exist in the q

Over Receipted POs post inspection

Hi guys,  I have seen a couple of articles surrounding this subject but just wanting to clarify my understanding.  Once a PO has gone through and passed inspection, we cannot delete or change the PO receipt….UnderstoodA way round this is to raise a DMR on the overage quantity received and then in DMR check the box to return to sender. What transactions does that resolve in the way of finance, because as I see it we would still need to clear GNRI as the supplier will never invoice for the material we incorrectly booked in? Am I right that if we pass the point of no return that we are going to have to complete numerous finance steps to reverse the transaction?Does anyone have quicker or easier solutions?
